You're all probably tired about all of my threads about these singing competitions. I'm really sorry... kind of. I'll probably end up just talking to myself and post random vids.

Anywho, The Sing-Off will probably come back for another season during the summer or fall. In its place is The Voice. I missed the first season because I just wasn't into watching TV. I caught the first couple of episodes on demand, and it's pretty interesting.

For auditions, the four judges' backs are facing the singer. If a judge likes the singer, they press the button, which turns their chair around. If multiple judges press their button, the singer gets to choose who they'd like to be their "mentor" for the competition.

Cee-Lo is the most calm, collected judge on that panel. Christina, Adam, and Blake all bicker back and forth. It's cute.

Anyone else interested in tuning into this show? What are your favorite performances? Who are you looking forward to advance?

I thought this was an interesting rendition.

I actually like the show. I like the auditions, not all the sucking up the judges do to get someone on their team but its part of the show I suppose, lol.

You know what I hate? The judges get all the promotion and the career boost and the contestants are a distant memory. Its like last season's winner never happened.

I watched this show for the VERY FIRST TIME EVER last night after reading YOUR thread!!! :D

And...

I LIKED IT!!! ..|

My FAVORITES SO FAR -- was the girl you featured in the Youtube above -- and the guy from NYC (that USED to live in MY hometown of Atlanta) that was HIV positive...

I HOPE that they BOTH do WELL -- and have already asked my partner to TIVO the remainder of the season!!!

THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP!!!

:):):)

The HIV guy is Jamar Rogers. He auditioned for American Idol season 8 and didn't make it.

The voice is where they go for a last gasp before total obscurity.

True. I checked out the winner, for some reason I didn't really enjoy the songs I heard on youtube.

I'm glad you enjoyed it :) I'm just hoping the rest is good after the blind auditions. I was watching Season 1's blind auditions, and dang! It was pretty interesting. I like the surprise when I think the singer is good, but the s/he doesn't sit well with the judges or one of them presses the button last minute.

LMAO. But I guess it's true. :p

I'm very invested in this season since there are so many artists that I really love that have made it onto teams already and I believe one more that they haven't shown yet!

Rooting for Chris Cauley, Angel Taylor, Tony Lucca and Charlotte Sometimes!

OR,

You could even skip the

Voice and American Idol

AND

maintain your Obscurities.

The host is a blessing as compared to Cryan Seacrust.

As for the Judge/Trainers...Position 1 and 4 are fine.

My assessment of the {insiders} positions 2/3 is low.

Ego, Vanity, Arrogance and need for copious amounts

of public attention are surrounding them at all times.

***I usually multi-task while Roomie watches.***

When does this come on again?

I watched the 1st season last year and kinda wish Javier didn't win - I liked him, but I didn't at the same time.

I completely agree. I liked Javier, but I didn't think he was the best of season 1. I wanted Frenchie to win.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

So far my favorite for this season is definitely Pip :)

Sorry for the late reply, but apparently the next episode is on Monday. I usually miss it and catch it on demand. It's kind of weird...because they'll say "Last night, so-and-so battled..." so I'm guessing maybe it's on a Monday and Tuesday...or perhaps the times differ completely. I'm not sure :/

Anywho, I caught up with the episodes....I'm a bit disappointed.

I. Songs are recycled. I checked on wikipedia (after recognizing two songs that were sung during auditions), and I found two other songs that were previously sung. I'm sure there are plenty of other songs out there -.-

1. Find Your Love
2. You and I
3. I Can't Make You Love Me
4. Paris (Ohh La La)

There may have been more, but I got lazy looking back and forth

II. Plenty of the artists that were advancing just aren't that good. Lindsey, on Christina's team, just sounds like she's trying too hard to be really soft. Where are the dynamics? Her audition was better than her duet and "Somebody that I Used to Know." Adam pointing out that he wanted more especially during the peak of the song was on point to what I was feeling. It felt very stagnant. I also liked Pip during the auditions, but now not so much :|

Oh, and I miss Naia. I wish she were able to just sing reggae the whole time :(

Chris Mann and Lindsey #Team Xtina FTW

and rooting for Pip #Team Adam too
Pip so cute with bow tie

oh and Tony Lucca could make far too

for Team Cee Lo
I picked Jamars, Juliette Simms and that oh so charming James Massone

no hope for Team Blake this season

Not so up and over with Chris Mann but Jermaine, Tony and Juliet most definitely. Tony came alive last week with the Britney song and again this week with How You Like Me Now. And Juliet ending the show this week with It's a Man's World was brilliant. What a great rendition.

Thanks for starting the thread.

I'm tired of Christina having to mention Britney every episode now. WTF.

le sigh. Even though it's way passed the blind auditions....
