I just moved into my new place with a new roommate. He is gay, but he is fairly older than I (I'm 23 he's 34). He doesn't get out much because he is a flight attendant, and he is barely home.

He's very nice and polite to me, but we don't really know eachother other than an aquaintance base. I like to know who I am living with on a personal level, nothing sexual or anything, just genuinely know the guy.

I'm used to walking out of the shower with a towel, used to undressing with open doors, etc. I do it in front of him just to see if he'll notice, and I also don't really care if my roommate, gay or straight, sees me doing this stuff. 50-50.

So! Blah blah I know, if we messed around it might cripple the friendship between us, I mean we DO live with eachother, but on the otherhand we're two guys: guys are like primitive apes - we like to get off.

I'm thinking I'm not going to pursue him, just because of the fact that he is my roommate. What do you guys think, how would you handle this situation?

Don't worry about it....
Let time take its course.....
If it happens it does - if not then it wasn't meant to be!!
Now - if YOU were MY roommate, you wouldn't have a chance my friend!!
Hugs to you, take it one day at a time. (*8*)

Haha, nice! agj25us, ur a sexy beast.

PS- I just thought... woudln't it be weird if my roomate posted on JUB? "I just got a new hot roommate..."

Just curious. How did you two become roomates knowing so little about each other? I hope you let the friendship blossom first and then just go from there.

gmoney- Craigslist.org. A website designed to place ads for business or personal use, very helpful for college students such as myself.

I drove to SF from Redding to meet him, so I had an idea of what he was about. Like I said, we don't know eachother on a deep level, just the "Hi and bye" bullshit.

I'm agreeing with Chance here....

Me, too - I think he explained things very well. Be careful - you might get lucky and things will work out between you, but you may screw things up, and then you both could become roomates from hell.

If you must have a roommate, a quiet guy who doesn't get out much and is gone a lot with his job is the perfect one.

The best advice I can offer you is to keep your relationship strictly platonic. It's better for roommates to be friends than lovers.

I don't think you should worry about the situation. You can focus your energies on seeking other men rather than trying to complicate your living arrangement. You hardly see your roommate anyway, why make it difficult?
