OLTL & GH are the only one's i've watched consistently over the last decade. it really sucks sometimes, but i've been hooked on ATWT over the last year.

there could also be alot worse on. i freely admit that hot guys, and the "trashy smut-fest" appeal are what draw me to daytime tv. nothing wrong with that. it is after all what drew me to JUB;)
 
I dont know about any other show, but in the case of "Days", for me, the problem was the show refused to grow-up and become more sophisticated. The shallow story lines appealed to me as a teenager. But at a certain point, it's like I'm just seeing the same nonsense over and over again. What's the point?
 
I used to sniff about the poor acting on soaps...until I started watching them. It is true that some are terrible (Days Of Our Live probably has the worst acting, but All My Cildren is right behind it). But the quality on some soaps is surprisingly good. Check out Maura West on "As The World Turns" or Susan Flannery on "Bold and Beautiful". They sure impressed me.
 
I think most of the soap operas still have a pretty good fan following but I have read rumors that Day of Our Lives and Guiding Light may soon be on the cutting board, but again those are just rumors so don't quote me.

If i'm not mistaken The Young and The Restless in terms of ratings is still the highest. I personally love Bold and Beautiful and As the World Turns, too bad I never have time to watch them anymore :(
