(*8*)Hi Stacy!! I've missed you! I was JUST coming here to make a thread about this show. (good thing I checked first. ;))

Yes! I LOVE this show. I had some reservations after the first episode because it seemed fluffier and sweeter than I wanted it/expected it to be. I am realizing now the producers are contrasting the two worlds. The Fairy Tale world storylines are sketchier and fluffier on purpose. While the real world storylines are more "filled in" and darker, and more complex.

So...it seems that The Evil Queen/Mayor AND Rumpilstilskin/Mr. Gold remember their past. I had a few doubts during the first episode whether the Evil Queen had gotten herself caught up in her own curse, and maybe did not know who she really was.

I an officially hooked on the show!

(p.s.---it's funny that the two shows I am following this season are polar opposites of eachother. Once Upon a Time, and American Horror Story! lol)

Yep...I'm enjoying it. It's a good twist on classic fairy tales. Also, It reminded me of when I was young, watching the Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday evenings.

I caught 2 episodes, back to back, last night. I hadn't even heard of it until I stumbled upon it. Have there been more than 2 so far?

Love AHS.

I am loving this show. I just caught the second episode, and frankly, I thought it was much better than the pilot. The Queen seems more badass (though she still doesn't hold a candle to Rumplestiltskin), Emma is more believable as a hero, and freaking Pam (True Blood's Kristin Bauer van Straten) made a cameo! I'm looking forward to next weeks episode.

Side note: that sheriff is a hottie! I wonder who he's supposed to be.

I adore Lana Parrilla (the evil queen/mayor). After Swingtown and Miami Medical failed, it's good to see her on a hit show.
Epi 2 was even better than the pilot.

How long can a series like this go on though, and remain fresh? I assume that, unlike LOST, the producers expect this series to only last three, maybe four seasons, at most. It's already moving at a quick pace (Queen realizing whom Emma really is, Emma already drawing battle lines with the Mayor/Evil Queen), so I wonder when the towns residents will start to have memories of their other life. I am assuming that Prince Charming will wake from his coma soon......so, I wonder if--since he died/was unconscious when the spell was cast,--will he remember who he really is? Since the Mayor and Mr. Gold (the bad guys) know, then there would have to be people from the "good side" who also remember. Battle lines would have to be drawn with some on one side, some on the other.

Not to go off on a tangent Stacy, but you are wrong about LOST. Everything that happened on the Island really DID happen. The sideline story in the last season was Purgatory/Limbo.....told at the end from Jack's point of view.

But on O.U.T. I think that the show would run out of steam if it lasted for as long as lost did. Plus, I assume the producers (who has since admitted that they made up the first three seasons of the show as they went) have learned from their mistakes and have a beginning and ending laid out already.

I just had a thought: is it possible that when Charming (please tell me he has an actual name) wakes up, he'll be the good guy that remembers the truth of who they were? I mean, he was knocking on death's door when the curse reached the castle, so maybe it didn't work on him like it did with most of the others.

Oh and to reiterate: The Sheriff is frakking HOT!!!

Oh yes the second ep was glued to the screen wonderful. It really had some magic/lightning.

The Evil Queen said, while enacting the curse, "We are going somewhere...terrible!!!" UUmm...Maine? A little town in Maine? If she wanted terrible, then why a run down area of New York? Sweet, innocent, storybook characters in the ghettos? Now THAT would have been interesting. They wouldn't have lasted a day. lol...;) :)

Yeah, I know. I was just trying to be funny. ;) But, I DO hope that this show maintains it's ratings. I would hate for it to be cancelled after one year, just when I really get into it.

I am watching the show. I am surprised at how much I am enjoying it.

A quick check on IMDB shows that Prince Charming's name will be "John Doe" in this realm.

Upon reflection, I don't know that they would have him wake up and know who he is, right away. I mean, if it were me, I'd write that in much later. I wouldn't want the season to be all about them getting out of this realm and back to theirs. I'd want it to be about Emma starting to believe, and, cliffhanger, something makes her figure out it's all true and season 2 is how she can get them back to pretend land. But then, does she want to go with them or stay here? And does Henry go to pretend land if they do?

Well, I'm thinking that the "good guys" will HAVE to have someone from the Fairytale Land, on their side. Someone who knows how life operates Over There, and would know how to get back there or fight the evil on this side. So, yeah, my thinking is that Prince Charming will have his own memories when he wakes up. LOL..I could be wrong though. That's just my guess.

See. Many places they can go with it :)

Ohio, not sure why you posted that about Josh. Was that supposed to be significant?

Sorry I went back and re-read a past post. I thought someone was asking what Charming's name was. I thought they were referring to the actor's name, and didn't realize they meant in the real world realm. Sorry!

This show is moving at quite a quick pace for a supposed long running series. It's more like a mini series. I'm thinking that this season will take place in this world, but that next season, maybe the true "battle" with the Evil queen, will take place in the Fairy Tale world,....with Emma pulled in by (the reversal of?) the spell.

Yeah...after this past Sunday's episode, I was also surprised how quickly it evolved. I think it's a good thing to keep it interesting. The preview for next Sunday involves Cinderella. I guess injected other fairy tale stories would help stretch the story and keep the series afloat.

Was it just me, or was this weeks episode a little flat? I figured out who the Mayor was sleeping with, long before they showed him. Doesn't Emma have ANY friends/co-workers that are going to miss her if she suddenly gives up her life in New York, to stay in Storybrooke?

It keeps getting better and better.....

It's not doing too shabby on the ratings. ABC renewed it for a second season a few days ago!

I think it's obvious that the tunnel led underground, to the "fairy tale" land. When the Mayor dropped the glass covered tree limb/twig it was shown to fall down the shaft to the destroyed remnants of The Land. I hope the tunnel plays an important role in later episodes.

^^^- Ok, that's not what I thought it was. I thought it was the magic mirror.
