Organ donors should be ...

Why the heck would I want to give my organs to some human that's just going to die later, anyway? There's only so many times you can recycle an organ.

What happens if nobody needs an organ donated at that point in time? You're free to go?

If the government owns our body when we're dead, then THEY should pay for the burial/cremation.

i respectful disagree with all your points. :)
Its all about the dead to decide. But since they have NO say, the body belongs to everyone. ;)

That's why the person should make his wishes known before he dies, and the family should follow through with his wishes. Though I disagree with your idea, I will say that it does have good intention behind it. ;)

May the heavens above give me strength to hold my tongue.

But you do have a say when you are alive, and, by having a say when you are alive, you can decide what happens to it after you're dead.

It doesn't belong to anybody when you're dead. You do not cease being a human being when you die.

Did you put any thought whatsoever into this thread? There's no rationale whatsoever to your reasoning.

yes when people wrote things down before they die their wish should be granted out of respect but not compulsory.

When you are dead, you are No longer human. You are a fish food.

Fuck. That. Shit.

If they won't take my blood when I'm alive, they don't get my spleen once I'm dead.

unless you wrote down clearly what you want to be done to the body before dead.
You won't have a say after that and you might be an organ donor. ;)

i disagree telstra - although i share a huge level of frustration at the lack of available organs and the wait fr cross matches HOWEVER i still think you have the right to have done with your body as you choose post mortem - my issue comes with the fact that gay people arent viable blood or organ donors under any circumstances as they are too high a risk - which is bull - i think more education is warrented and removal of unreasonable and unjustified road blocks to certain potential viable donors. The last thing i mention is do so hesitantly - and that is respecting certain cultural/religious beliefs that preclude said persons from organ donation - i know these tend to be the same groups that dont respect us but to treat them with the same kind of disrespect only brings us down to their level.

In defense of blood clinics, they are very careful about what blood they accept, it's better to err on the side of safety when it comes to giving blood, so they don't take from a large variety of donors, not just homosexuals.

(I am inelligable because I had a blood transfusion at a certain date, which tells you something about the constraints they use.)
