I actually love that movie, but well...I a sucker for love stories.

My most overrated movies is "A.I." I hated this movie and could not believe that so much money was spent on such a schlocky movie. It was horrible.

I thought "Greek Wedding" was funny the first time I saw it - but never again after that.

I love everything Wes Anderson has done, but I'm a snob.

Aronofsky's "Requiem for a Dream" was unbelieveably hyped up by my friends, but after I watched it, I thought, "what the fuck was the big deal?" I was not impressed. "Pi" should have gotten all the attention.
"Memento" didn't make me shit my pants either.

For me it's "Gone With The Wind". This huge epic story of some rich white woman, who practically looses everything she has (but her slaves). She was an evil hag. I wanted to slap the shit out of her. But maybe that's just me.

The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy. Who will compensate for the 8 hours I spent downloading those 4.2 GB?

^I'll second that, I couldn't even get past the first one.

Uh, 'The Lord of The Rings Trilogy' comes to mind.

I loved the first one but definitely the last 2, also the Spider-man movies I was pissed at how mediocre the first one was.

I can't believe you guys have mentioned "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"!! I absolutely love that film!!!!! I've seen it alteast a 100 times and it still gets me to laugh my ass off.

There are tons of overrated films in my opinion. Here are a couple:

1) Braveheart
2) American Beauty
3) The Excorcist
4) Philadelphia
5) Sin City
6) The Passion of the Christ
7) Spaceballs
8) Forrest Gump

Well I of course liked Lord of the Rings. duhhh.

But i agree with Forest Gump, what a piece of shite that was. Also lost in translation, couldn't even get through that. I personally couldn't stand Philidelphia either.

CRASH!! That was one huge fucking mess!! Screenplay was good but the direction was horrible, and the acting was laughable. I only liked Terrence Howard, Thandie Newton, and Michael Pena, who was the best thing about the movie and yet he was not included in the Best Ensemble at the SAG awards. People are afraid to call this movie bad because then you're a racist, if you say it.

It's also named the worst movie of the year by 3 of the top movie critics in the country. Obviously it's not the worst, but their reason was they only put movies in their list that people care about, and I agree with them completely!

Did someone mention Star Wars yet? Parts 1 and 2 were ok, 3 sucked bad ass and the old ones, .. hmmm. :?

I think for just about every movie, you're going to get people who think it was overrated and people who say it's their favorite movie ever.

I doubt that there will be a definitive answer.

The only one mentioned so far that I agree with is Passion of the Christ.

A Clockwork Orange is the first that comes to mind. After I got done watching it I thought to myself, "Ok...?" I got it and all that, and it wasn't bad, but the reviews I got from friends made it seem like I was going to cream my pants, pass out, and wake up an entirely different person.

Oh, and The Sixth Sense - "I see dead people" - my twatting arse you do. Fuck off you little cunt.

"I wish I knew how to quit you." is the new "I see dead people." LOL

Hello Dolly.....not Gene Kelly's best work. An overblown musical.
Aliens....I left the theater feeling cheated.

I agree enthusiastically with The Sixth Sense... and ANYTHING else M Night Shyamalan touches is complete crap. Oooooh, twist endings, big fucking deal.
