The first one was scary. The second one was terrible. I'm only seeing the third one for a sense of completion. Hopefully it's better.

I'm a huge horror fan and have only seen the first one. Thought it was tedious and not scary at all.

The first was scary fun, and somewhat believable.
The second had a few good scary moments, but was less believable. Do normal families really install security cameras in every room of their house? Even after their modest house was apparently broken into and nothing was stolen?
The third one looks like it has too many spoilers in the trailer, which I am sure will make it less scary.
It seems like the more of these they make, the more of the paranormal "activity" they show. The first was effective because they didn't show too much. Sometimes the most frightening thing is that which we cannot see.
