haha you're just hearing about this? it's all over the news!

So far The Office has shut down...24(which may not return till 2009 now since they only got 5 episodes shot so far)...Desperate Housewives is shut down....My Name Is Earl has 2 more weeks of shooting then they are shut down....Grey's Anatomy is still filming but the actors are on the picket lines during their lunch breaks and when they aren't filming. All late night talk shows are shut down the only talk show host that has crossed the picket lines has been Ellen who went on with her shows but opted out of doing a monolauge to show her appreciation for the writers(even though I think not filming the show would have shown more appreciation and solidarity)

This isn't the first writer's strike ever. There was one back in the 80s. I seem to recall David Letterman stayed on, and attempted to write all his material himself. It wasn't all that good...and I think THAT did more for the writers than anything. I'm not sure if his point was "this is how the show would be without writers", but it got the point across much better than simply closing up shop.

I'm sure Surge was well aware of the events, but that link lets me see the status of some of the shows that I watch and is appreciated.

I support the writers... it's like trying to squeeze blood out of a stone with some of these greedy studio execs who have more money than they'd ever need... same with the scumbags who run the RIAA and the CRIA. *Grrrr*

haha yeah and in the new Entertainment Weekly that i got today the head writer/creator called them from the picket line and told them that he knows this season has sucked and said that the Dec.3 episode was shot to be a season finale because of the strike so when they get back to work for the Chapter 3 that they will be able to have a fresh start and be able to go back to what worked in the first season and get rid of the things they did wrong in these past couple of episodes this season
