Ronald Reagan is Still Dead

Your blinders must be the size of garbage can lids. We wouldn't be in Iraq now except for GWB's lies and distortions. There would be no war and if he had concentrated on his first target, the problems would most likely be none existent now and Al Qaeda would be a thing bad dreams are made of instead of being stronger than ever, and spreading like wild fire around the globe.

And of course there would have been no war except for his enthusiastic enablers led by the likes of Hillary Clinton who voted to give the president authorisation to invade Iraq. In her address to the Senate before the vote she said:

This is a very difficult vote. This is probably the hardest decision I have ever had to make -- any vote that may lead to war should be hard -- but I cast it with conviction.

And perhaps my decision is influenced by my eight years of experience on the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue in the White House watching my husband deal with serious challenges to our nation. I want this President, or any future President, to be in the strongest possible position to lead our country in the United Nations or in war. Secondly, I want to insure that Saddam Hussein makes no mistake about our national unity and for our support for the President's efforts to wage America's war against terrorists and weapons of mass destruction. And thirdly, I want the men and women in our Armed Forces to know that if they should be called upon to act against Iraq, our country will stand resolutely behind them.

Ah, that eight years of experience in the White House. Just a reminder of why we need new blood there, isn't it, unless one has "blinders the size of garbage can lids"?

I love America, and Hate what the Neocons have done to it. I love to see human rights upheld and hate to see people in power tear them down. I love Honesty and hate to see lies and corruption in political figures. I love a good book, but hate most TV.

And the reason I speak of what I hate here is there are so many posters like you who can't seem to grasp what this administration has done in our name. They are criminals, and we need to prosecute them.

Your post about "he's my president and I support him even if I don't always agree with him," turns my stomach. Name one single thing he's done for America that is positive. He's leaving by this time next year, and I fear before then we will have an escalated war on our hands, and be so deep in debt with a full blown economic depression that people will be living in regenerated Hoovervilles. Several generations of Americans will be dying in the middle east because of his perpetual war on "terrorism". Millions pf Americans will lose their homes, as well as their jobs because of his economic policies, and much, much more, yet he's your president and you support him. What a crock. You apparently care more for a criminal president than you do for the American people or the country.

1. His first Attorney General brought the government back to the original meaning of the Second Amendment
2. He took the battle to Al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan.
3. He spent a lot of time on his ranch chopping wood.

Apparently you're not up on what General Petraeus is accomplishing in Iraq. You should watch this
interview with David Kilcullen.

don't think we should prosecute the admin - they were elected - they made some good decisions - some bad - nothing criminal

i do support my pres - he is my pres - he is america's president - he deserves our support - especially in wartime - if john edwards becomes pres - i would support him - even though i loathe him and his current "ideals"

and america is NOT going downhill - life is peaks and valleys - we're in a valley

and i care much about people - so much so that i refuse to indiscriminately denigrate them - as u do

u gotta cheer up lalo - ur way too depressing

Let's see: Cheney leaned on the intelligence people to spin their information in a way that made the president decide we needed to go to Iraq, so his company Haliburton could make obscene profits at the expense of the American taxpayer not only now but for the next several generations.

Both parties have been steadily building a police state -- Bush accelerated that astonishingly -- and you don't think we're going downhill?

He is a bit denigrating, especially with that "Repug" bit. I can't decide if that a mass slur or what.

he "leaned" on the intelligence people? that's ur take

seems like all nations/all major politicos had this one wrong - but somehow it's gwb/darth cheney's fault - oh well

police state? nah - that's an extreme position that i don't think has any semblance of reality - u gotta show me something there - how has YOUR life been affected by this "police state" thingy?

The repug thing is his way of saluting alfie - it's like trudy

it's lame

and repetitive

but

we all gotta be us right?

It was reported by a serious news outlet; it was also discussed on here. I'm too friggin' tired to hunt for it just now, but it isn't "my take".

Did you sleep through the passage of the badly mislabeled "USA PATRIOT" Act?
Have you missed the proliferation of laws that make it virtually impossible to not break one?
Do the implications of the efforts by Clinton, Schumer, Feinstein, and their comrades to disarm Americans escape you?

As a salute, it's fitting -- your description of it matches Alfie's posts to a T.

1. His first Attorney General brought the government back to the original meaning of the Second Amendment While trashing our personal freedoms.
2. He took the battle to Al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan. While failing to do anything but increase the power and influence of both enemy organizations without capturing or killing OBL. He might have just as well been sending them guns and money, and with the current state of Pakistan, he may well have been doing that. The stupid shit.
3. He spent a lot of time on his ranch chopping wood.
What for? He doesn't grow anything on the ranch, and certainly has no livestock, he's afraid of horses, and only has a ranch because Karl Rove sold him as a good ol' boy and thought a ranch would do the trick.

Apparently you're not up on what General Petraeus is accomplishing in Iraq. You should watch this General Petraeus is a lap dog. I get my info about how things are going from friends on the ground in Iraq, not from a groupie sitting in a comfortable chair talking crap the Bush/Cheney monster wants to hear.
interview with David Kilcullen.

When are we going to wake up and realize the Neocons are trying to steal the country? They lie, steal, subvert the Constitution, and everybody just points at them with their mouths open and a slack expression on their faces, whispering Al Qeada is coming, Al Qeada is coming. I'm tired of it. It's time to start fighting the real enemy of America, and it is not Al Qeada, but Neocon Repuglicanism.
