So, anyone here likes to listen to Sarah during your downtimes or because you're a huge fan. Her Mirrorball Complete Concert album just came out today in the U.S. and the U.K. yesterday I believe. It is marvelous, even though it's something that it hasn't been heard of already...this is basically her 1999 DVD concert from the last show remastered in its entirety (more of her spliced comments added). Damn worth the $20.

I've been a super fan of her music since her Afterglow release with Fallen. I'm not a super-freak about getting to know her on a personal level or finding every little detail/trivia of her life; just her accomplishments and music makes me happy and for her.

Through the years, her voice has changed, not so drastically, but for the better. I already heard her forthcoming album "Wintersong" and it blew me away. She's back to her glory days, but I wished this was a real studio album with her usual touring -- But I will gladly wait for a couple more years.

To this day, I am lurking the net for some of her rare stuff -- promo CDs, imported CDs, basically any rarity (not posters/clothes/etc..)

Thanks for reading ;)

I am a Sarah fan!

I will have to check out MCC :)

Nice to know there are a couple fans here. :)

What are your favorite albums, guys?

Mine is Solace. I love everything. My whole persona revolves around most of her lyrics in that album, especially "Lost" and "Drawn to the Rhythm". My favorite track is "I Will Not Forget You"...mm, fantasies, lol.

^ ditto blackwindow. Full Of Grace pulled me through alot of shit. I love Surfacing and Fumbling Towards Ecstacy was good too.

There are a few songs that just get me. Adia and Angel are the first that come to mind. I really need to get her music because I am just blown away with her voice. She has this... depth that gets me right at my core.

I'm a fan, she has a heavenly voice. "Possession" is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

Last year, she was here in my small Canadian town for a concert on the same day as the annual cancer fundraising walk. That afternoon she made a surprise appearance at the city park where it was held, and played three songs in an acoustic performance. Unfortunately I wasn't there! My mother was, and said people were on their cells phones to summon their friends.

I think she is very generous. My favourite is Possession.

im a kinda fan some good, some not so much. solace is a great album. check out (not sure if the title is correct...got stolen in an auto breakin a while back) 'rarities, b sides and other stuff'...could be a subtitle, but not sure. her rendition of joni mitchell's 'blue' is inspiring

I'd say I am a casual fan - I have only bought 2 of her C.D's to date "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy" and "Surfacing".

"Fumbling" being my favourite of the 2 - but I love "Adia" from "Surfacing"

There was an import in the US called Rarities, B-Sides & Other Stuff which is really good. It has a couple of the songs mentioned previously, and also "Full of Grace" which is my favorite song of hers by far. It was used in the last episode of season two of Buffy. The other song of hers I never get tired of is "Sweet Surrender." Brilliant !!

StarCrasher, you're lucky to be living in Vancouver aka Sarahland =p

Rarities, B-Sides & Other Stuff is a great album. Sarah covers her first 10 years in the album with live cuts, remixes and covers. It's really great, though all of these have been released in some form (in CD singles or 12" records)

A lot of you may have heard just the album versions of her songs, but she really rocks most of them live! I was lucky enough to see her 2 years in a row in 2004 and 2005.

BTW, for those who've heard Sarah cover Joni Mitchell's "Blue", if you haven't heard yet, go to www.jrecords.com and listen to "River" -- it's on the right side in "JUKEBOX". Make sure you have the latest Flash installed. (also available in her Wintersong album next tuesday-- BUY IT!!! lol)

OR go to http://www.jrecords.com/ecard/sarahmclachlan/main_module.html to listen to "River", her brand new song titled "Wintersong", and Lennon's cover of "Happy Xmas". These 3 are bound to be her singles I hope. River already is!

I've heard this album already in advanced and other gems include: "Silent Night", medley of "The First Noel/Mary Mary", "What Child Is This? (Greensleeves)", "In The Bleak Mid-Winter" & the remastered cover of Gordon Lightfoot's "Song For A Winter's Night" (typical Sarah made this song depressing yet lovely and memorable  & THIS IS BETTER than the one that appears in the Rarities CD )

I would call myself a "New" Fan of hers. Ever since Afterglow, I have been addicted to her - but just that record. Obviously I'm a fan of songs like Adia, Angel, I Will Remember You, but I'm not really into a lot of her other stuff. My favorite song of Sarah's I think would be either World On Fire, or Fallen.

Those are her most overplayed hits. She has other good stuff! In fact, since I'm such a hardcore fan of her music, there's lots of songs that are as good as those...

"Drawn To The Rhythm", "The Path Of Thorns" & "I Will Not Forget You" from her 1991 album Solace for example. Fumbling Towards Ecstasy album is perfect, so all songs from there. She also had nice upbeat songs from her debut album Touch such as "Vox", "Steaming", and "Trust", which are very different from the rest. She uses lots of classical instruments here and her voice is almost opera-like.

:D

Awesome. I was gonna ask for albums with the most good songs on it in your opinion. I'll have to give those a try. I realize those I mentioned were her most played out, but I guess if it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have ever given her a try lol

Not a problem. Glad to help :-)

If anyone wants to see Sarah music videos or live ones, there's plenty in Youtube.

I'm not a HUGE fan but one of my fav. songs of all time is "Adia." I cry everytime I hear that song; It just moves me.

I guess you could call me a huge fan. I love her music very much, she is a REAL artist.

Her best songs (in my opinion):

- Adia
- World on Fire
- Ice Cream
- Stupid
- Fallen
- Angel
- Sweet Surrender
- Building a Mystery

Adia is great. She has an angelic voice and I'm happy she writes songs that many of us can very much relate to. I know thousands of artists do this, but Sarah, she's just unique and special :D
