It's a shame that kids today don't have attention spans long enough to endure a theme song this long, like from the awesomely 80s cartoon "She-Ra." It's easily the fiercest opening sequence to ever be on TV. The part when she says "E-vil FORces of HORDAK!" is pretty much the best thing ever. It sounds like a drunken Eartha Kitt impersonation. When I was a child it was one of my favorite cartoons. It was just like "He-Man" in every way, but for some reason I always prefered the Princess of Power to her overly tan and muscley counterpart. The villains were better too and so were the story lines--sort of like how "Xena" was always better than "Hercules." Which brings me to my next point, if you never watched "She-Ra" before, it was just like an animated "Xena," only She-Ra had waaaay better cheekbones and would never--absolutely never--have a dykey sidekick. Plus, she was very sexy, had a nice body and had a feminine attitude. What little girl--or boy--wouldn't want to be her?

She also had a much better transformation sequence than He-Man. I too prefered She-Ra to He-Man...even though I had every He-Man toy that they ever made back then. lol

Pfft please, crappy exposition doesn't make a good opening sequence, nope catchy theme tunes do!

I wasn't reall a fan of either the -man cartoons, I mean who needs a muscle man in a harness when you can have mutant turtles and transforming robots?

she-ra? i'm sorry but no. i will have to disagree. the title of 'best cartoon ever' has to go to batman: the animated series! there hasn't been as good a cartoon since! ;)

Hell yeah! She-Ra was the shit! It was one of my favorites...| I liked She-Ra a little better than He-Man too. I guess it was because Swiftwind could fly and she had more powers than He-man. They always taught a valuable lesson every episode too. They don't make them like that anymore. Kids born in the late 80's and 90's just don't know good cartoons.

Of course.

But nostalgia wins out in many people's minds.

you're totally right, the opening sequence music was bangin! love it

i dont remember the cartoon, but i remember i had comics or some kind of she-ra books in the early 90's when i was like 5y/o and they scared the shit outta me LOL. i think it was the animal with the big rainbow ears or some of the bad guys.

does anyone remember davis the knome or something like that? a friend of mine brought it up when we were talking about cartoons, but i swear i dont remember that one.

i may be the only one here, but i still think that the early 90's era of cartoons were the best!

I think Justice League was the best cartoon ever. The great thing about the animated Batman/Superman/Justice league is they all tied together. Things in Batman's 1st season in 1992 (or 1994?) tied into Justice league 10 years later. Loved that.

Thundercats batman and He Man kick She Ra's ass. Don't get me wrong I liuked she fought Hordak instead of a campy villianess but serious 1 season tells you everything you need to know. Although Dungons and Dragons was kick ass 4 a 1 season show.

Oh Gargoyles kicked ass too.

That animated series was pretty interesting because She-Ra's like the down-to-earth diva and Catra, the demanding diva. It's like the difference between Grace Adler and Karen Walker...or pre-Butterfly Mariah Carey and post-Butterfly Mariah "Scary", LOL.

I am anxiously awaiting the feature length animated Wonder Woman movie to be released on dvd. I have seen the preview on youtube and it looks pretty good. I also really liked the recent animated version of the Justice League that was on cartoon network a few years back. I have all the seasons ( 3) on dvd.

Anyone own any of the Seasons on DVD? I've been watching Season 1 Vol 1 all week. Every time Loo-Kee makes an apperance on the screen in hiding, my dvd will jump scenes or stop playing. Anyone else have this problem?
