Well, there's nothing to show. :( My most serious hobby is learning new languages. Also, I like biking and skiing. Music does have a special role in my life as well (was a singer for some time, played a classical instrument and tried to be a DJ). :)

I've reached the point where I simply have too many 45rpm records to remember. This is problematic for a few reasons. First off, I'll go out record shopping, come across a record that I think will work well...but wait, do I already own this one or not? Most of the time, I'll just buy it anyway. But I've now bought at least twenty 45s that I already owned. (Since they're usually in the $1 range, this hasn't exactly been a massive waste of money - and I usually just give away the extra copy.) Also, when I have a gig, I have to try to remember which records work best for which genres...and although I can remember, oh, thirty or forty that will work great for that night, it means I'm usually overlooking a hundred that would work just as well.

Not only that, but I had originally kept the records organized by "genre". That was fine when I only had a hundred or two. But now the "genres" are bleeding into each other. Here's a good 70s pop record with a great funk instrumental on the b-side - put it in the 70s box, or the funk box?

So I finally gave up. I'm filing everything alphabetically. And as I do so, I'm listening to a snippet of each side, and deciding which genres it works best with. I'm then typing everything into a master database, with coding letting me know which songs work with which genre. When it's time to do a funk gig, say, I can sort everything by the funk column, and figure out what to take with me. It's a long tedious process, but it'll be worth it once I'm done.

Here's a photo I took a couple nights ago. I was on the Gs. This little fellow actually serves a purpose - he adds weight to the UK-pressed 45s (with the small holes), and helps them play better. I still need a name for him, though.

A friend of mine actually has a jukebox in his living room. I think it holds about 144 records. Which isn't anywhere near as many as he owns. He swaps out what's in it every month or two. Usually he'll have music from one particular year in it at any given time.

I'd need at least seven of the things....which probably isn't the simplest way to store the records. :)

Two hobbies are writing and illustrating stories/scenes with my dolls. My most recent fiction appears in a charity collection for the Pulse victims/families in Orlando. I think it's the only story with kinky sex (my other hobby).

I enjoy building things, such as decks, ramps (as in the photo) I had some extra lumber and built a work bench for my hide out (our 3rd bed room).
 
I can't really show it, but I'm about to reach 100,000 people in a genealogical research project that will eventually include every family and person from the county I was born and raised in as well as the data on my actual family on both sides back to abut 1400.

It has been over a decade in the making. The goal is to have it ready in some form to hand over to the museums and libraries for the 150th birthday of Canada as a confederation.

What is meant by a "counting token"? How were they used? Were they not monetary?

I don't have any books on medieval coinage. I track down the attributions on the internet; many good sites out there; have 27 different sites for ancient and medieval coins saved in my favorites that I go to regularly...a good one for ancients is wildwinds.com
...there is a book I'd love to get; THE SILVER COINS OF MEDIEVAL FRANCE 476-1610 AD by James N. Roberts...it's out of print and used copies aren't cheap and aren't too easy to come by

I understand that a great deal of them went into circulation and were used as money. The piece that I posted is about the same size and weight as an Oord or 2 duits
 
I collect English coins and have Spinks 2014 if you need a look up.
