Gosh, I REALLY need to see this movie. I'm telling you, my motherland of India is going to come at the world HARD!!
As I said on the other thread, its a very good film but the fact that its the Oscar frontrunner is baffling (even if you ignore the fact that Golden Globes always giving awards to Brits, no matter how mediocre).
Its not very cinematic. In fact, its basically a TV movie. The question/flashback formula gets a little bit tiresome after a while too.
Its not better than Dark Knight, WALL E, or Changeling. And thats only 3 films. I've not yet seen the other strong contenders.

I wasn't majorly impressed by this film, it was enjoyable enough but I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it again.
A better adaptation from a book would have been 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' by Khaled Hosseini if you ask me.

I'm sure it's a great film, but I'm sorry - every time I see Dev Patel I think of him attempting to delay orgasm by listing Hugh Grant films in chronological order.
