So, I did it, I finally did it... I had been putting it off. I hate buying new shoes. I hate it.

I had a pair of boat shoes that were so old that forensics would have found dinosaur scat on the sole of them. Maybe I bought them in the late '90's. They were falling apart, they were ugly and they felt great on my feet.

Today, they were tossed in to the trash, kind of sad, I might have had them longer than any other shoes I had ever owned. All good things must come to an end.

How long do you make your shoes last? Ever have that favorite pair?

I wear my shoes only when I go out, and that's only about once or twice a week, and I've had them for a long time. They're not my favourite pair. They're my only pair.

I don't know how long I keep my shoes. I have two pair that I alternate days and a few other shoes for specific activities. I would take a guess that my shoes may last eight years, but that is only a guess.

I bought some of them over 20 years ago. But then I have really a lot of shoes so they don't get an enormous amount of wear.

I mainly just wear trainers, they stay on me til they fall to pieces, two or three years .

My shoes usually last a couple of years.

I have been fighting to get new shoes for two years now. I had a fitting, finally, the other day, but I asked for a wider pair. I am suppose to be getting a custom pair of diabetic shoes. These new ones are suppose to work with a brace for my foot drop. I hope they work well and I stop getting ulcers on my foot I can't feel.

I find it hard to find comfortable shoes, so if a pair are comfortable I wear them until I can no longer glue them together.

my longest pair are the steel toed boots and hiking boots...I think over 20 years each....but I don't wear them everyday...

I usually pop into Big 5 Sporting Goods every 6 months or so and walk out in the new ones and throw the old ones in the trash...

We can't forget Blanche Devereaux talking about buying new shoes
