Cool. I didn't know there was a new one in the making... and with a hot looking Mr. Spock :)

I'm hoping there's gonna be some hot Kirk/Spock undertones...

Ooh I like Star Trek. That Doctor Crusher was cool. I like Zachary Quinto.

dear god! it looks like 90210 meets star trek. :(

i SO hope the movie doesn't suck.

There's a risk it doesn't work. But it is a bit of a re-imagining.Chris Pine isn't going to be channelling William Shatner at his hammiest, and is quite hot indeed.Zachary Quinto does resemble a younger Leonard Nimoy as Spock, though hotter....certainly the beginnings of their life long best friendship will be prominently played.I would have preferred a TNG or DS:9 oriented or inclusive take, but this one with JJ Abrams guiding hand looks likwe it could reinvigorate the franchise and give it a new lease on life.I am intrigued by the actor playing young Montgomery Scott, future Enterprise chief engineer,Simon Pegg who was hilarious in "Shawn of the Dead"...wonder what his take on the role James Doohan immortalized will be.

I've been trying to get excited about this, but I just can't. I still don't like the idea of Trek going into the past, look what it did with Enterprise, but they are also putting too much on JJ Abrams on reviving the Trek universe. From what I understand, his shows aren't what they used to be, and the movies he's directed haven't been very critically acclaimed or big box office successes.
I'll keep my fingers crossed, but I still get the feeling this could be one of the possible final nails in Star Trek's coffin...

Well the guy Harry, the spoiler dude who's head appeared in The Texas Chainsaw Masscare remake, raved about it as he was allowed to see scenes.

I am afraid it may alienate fans like myself who grew up on TNG. Some STOS I liked but hated the most, I liked them older in the films.

I was wondering how Zachary Quinto would do as Spock. He looks good. I am beginning to shed the association of him and his role on "Heroes".

I think they've left it too long now. I saw enterprise and for me had no spark, TNG was always the best. I'm not hoping it does badly, but I think if it's going to be another campy, so-so Trek film I'll give it a miss.

Eric Bana is one of the sexiest men alive. And the Chris Pine is seductive. I could actually get excited about it--even without a Bana-over-Pine sex scene, thought I'd definitely prefer to see that! :D

From the official site StarTrekMovie.com comes this new set of teaser posters featuring another four major characters: Karl Urban as Dr. "Bones" McCoy, Simon Pegg as Scotty , John Cho as Sulu and Anton Yelchin as Chekov.

I think that was because they were trying to recreate the old Star Trek instead of creating a new one. They hadn't really got around to developing the characters, either. Data had all sorts of emotions in the first few episodes and there was way too much fooling around on the bridge. It was difficult to take them seriously.

(And who in hell designed those stupid chairs!!???)
