Suits - Advice and Such

I'm definitely not one to go with trends. I'm looking for a classic suit.

And thanks all for the advice. I'll definately have to have some tailoring done. I'm only 5'8" and I have largish legs.

For a classic suit go to Brooks Brothers. Spend as much as you can, it's worth it for a good suit. A good suit will not only make you look good, it'll help you feel confident and it will last for years.

Make sure to have the suit custom tailored in the store. And a hint: while the suit is being fitted to you, stand in the posture you normally stand so it'll fit right while you're wearing it.

Sometimes sales clerks at stores like Brooks Brothers are wonderful but some will have a snooty attitude -- don't let that put you off. You're there to get something for yourself so don't let ridiculous arrogance on their part bother you.

By the way, the shoes you've chosen are perfect!

A charcoal will still work fine for such a theme. Just wear a black or deep purple or blood red shirt and a distinctly jazzy tie, maybe some op-art cufflinks? A French-cuffed shirt in a jewel-tone sateen is a great way to turn a daytime suit into an evening suit.

The shoes look great.

That's pretty much what I was thinking: charcoal with blood red. Maybe I can find some snazzy cufflinks. I've been wanting some anyway. Thanks. This is why I love royalty.
