Survivor 27: Blood vs. Water

I don't know it was such a big move other than saying he was going to vote Brad which opened a door that the two other guys didn't want to go along with since they voted Ciera. Fortunately one of them turned on the second vote which was sweet and Culpepper running around saying he wasn't mad and trying to make friends, and even as he got to R I he goes in all apologetic. And if his wife decides to change places with him and he accepts what will he be like on the other tribe? I don't like the guy at all and even less his wife.

I don't like Gervase or Tyson. Tyson has always gotten my bile to move.:clown:

Colton is scum but Probst tearing him a new one for quitting "twice" was such bullshit. He was so obviously trying to deflect blame from the casuals who were angry that Colton was brought back a second time. He didn't have appendicitis but I don't know how you can actively plan to fake something like that, especially when the medical team comes out and basically confirms something's wrong. And considering his position in the game in One World he had absolutely no reason to fake an illness and quit.

And yeah, what's wrong with Caleb? He's either a saint or something about him is fucked up that we aren't seeing for him to be with Colton. Closet racist? Four nipples? Does have a tail hidden somewhere??

He has horns.

Fun tribal. Especially when Caleb said, "You mess with the bull you get the horns"

I liked Caleb's move, too, and Galang will respect their blindside. The producers couldn't have asked for a better scenario to set up the next episode.

Sorry to see Marissa go but 1) John's chest lives to entertain me another day and 2) we still have Candice to take Marissa's place in the FUCK YOU BRAD CULPEPPER department.

And OMG what an awesome episode! LOVE that Caleb threw that out there at TC and pulled off a last minute blindside! He's now in a great position to either keep working with Hayden/Vytas or join with the girls (who for the first time could take control of their tribe). Just AWESOME all around. For a minute there I thought the original vote would've been a 3-2-1 split but no matter because Caleb has already shown in one TC that he has more game than his godawful boyfriend. Good for him.

Brad Culpepper at Redemption with Candice??? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

If Monica switches with Brad, that is a dumbass move. No one on that tribe likes Brad.

Good move by Caleb, but his tribe sucks. 0 and 4 in challenges! And they keep voting off strong players.

I'm confused with last night's episode.

Caleb made a ballsy move, but too much light on him ( and his ego) might be his downfall. And what bout voting out all the strong guys ???
I appreciate that brad is gone tho and i cannot thank caleb enough for that move. But Will hayden & vytas be ok with that ??
I could totally see caleb joining forces with the girls.

If monica switches places with her husband that'd be ridiculous. She's in a good spot right now, while he's in a spot where ther's no way he can win !!! Cant wait to see candice and jhon beat culpeppers'asses.

That was an awesome episode tho.

Caleb seems to be the opposite of Colton. While Colton is a pissy queen who has fits of hissy when he doesn't get his way, Caleb is laid back and easy going. If he took a long and strong bath ,to remove any bits of Colton on him, he'd be quite the cute cub to have around.
I wonder if Caleb voted against John. They're not showing who voted for whom as in other seasons. Loved the way he turned it against Brad. Also love John. That chest! He also seems like a nice guy. All around, this season is pretty interesting to me.

Other comments: It's interesting how Laura feels angst when she constantly beats her daughter, Ciera. And yet, Tina takes fiendish delight in beating her daugter. That is kind of awesome!
I definitely have no love for Colton but when he quit, Jeff's outrage was sickening. "No, I won't allow you to burn your buff. That is for people who cum-cum-cumpete". (spelling intentional) Wouldn't it have been hilarious if Colton had given Jeff the third finger and dropped his buff in the fire anyway?

As much as I don't like Brads personality, it wasn't a good move to vote him out. They have weakened their team for future challenges.

PS 10/10 for John's chestll

Candice has always been monotone normal person whose special ability has been causing everyone around her to hate her presence in the game due to irrational flip-flopping, so her having an actual personality, a hot husbo and to cause drama proactively by going off on the Culpeppers has definitely converted me into a fan. So much so that I actually wanted her to stay in over Marissa, who'd be a devastating loss in any other season.

I wonder if Caleb voted against John. They're not showing who voted for whom as in other seasons

Jeff still arranges the votes to wring the maximum drama out of them and make sure all minority votes are shown, though. John voted for Ciera while everyone else voted for him in the previous episode's tribal. Kind of like how we know from them showing Hayden scribbling out Ciera's name (but eventually writing it again anyway) that Vytas was the one who sided with Caleb and the girls in voting out Brad this episode.

Yes, when Jeff tallies the votes, he already knows who's going to be voted out. He acts like it's a big surprise to him. He also tries to create drama by asking questions to put people on edge. He tries to get them all stirred up and it usually works.

Still, I like it the way it was when you actually saw them holding up their votes. Is it because of the redemption island thing? The one voted out isn't really voted out in this season. They just go to the island and are finally out when they lose the challenge.

Sites had Marissa ultimately returning to the game. Who will it actually be? We shall see.

Yes, I wanted to mention for the enjoyment of the anti-spoiler people out there, the spoilers had Marissa as the person returning from Redemption Island at the merge. So they bombed that and who knows what else. :)

Cirie is in the same category as Rob Cesternino: observant, negotiable, yet fallen greatness attributed to some luck and one too many appearances. Rob Mariano knew to get out Rob C. in the 2004 All-Stars, and get him out early, and J.T. knew to get out Cirie in the 2010 Heroes vs. Villains, and get her out early, because the two were recognized as methodical in their approach and, for Rob M. and J.T., not favorable to their end games. Cirie and Rob C. did a lot of outfoxing but were eventually outfoxed.

The all-time best player is Sandra Diaz-Twine. The bias against her, and her being the only two-time winner (2003's Pearl Islands, 2010's Heroes vs. Villains), comes from people who expressed their disapproval. Which means nothing.

Unless there is something special about how the method to playing the game by Aras (remember: Tina was the first eliminated in All-Stars), Sandra will end up remaining the only Survivor to have won Survivor twice.

To add this discussion about the current Blood vs. Water, I am most intrigued by Rupert's wife Laura. I have the feeling she will go far. But I also hope she is really good at negotiating the game. Rupert's problem was that he didn't get it. Laura is not Rupert. So, I would like to see how she is and how she fares. And I wish her well.

Also among the "loved ones," I do like Caleb. Post-analysis of last Wednesday's [10.09.2013] episode from Rob Cesternino's Rob Has a Podcast was in discussion of whether that tribal boot was not beneficial for Colton's man Caleb. I think it's too early to get into that…unless there's a behavior problem going forward. I agreed with that move.

Cirie is a much better player than Rob C., IMO. Yes, Cirie went out early in Heroes vs. Villains but it required a fucking Hidden Immunity Idol for it to happen. Rob C. went out, what, third in All Stars, his second appearance, by a normal vote? When she played her second game in Micronesia, Cirie made it to third place and could have won if she pulled out that final challenge. And unlike a Russell Hantz or even an Amanda, Cirie COULD have won either of her games if she could won that final challenge in each of them. Her fatal flaw, unfortunately, but Rob C. had the same one, which is how he ended up in the position that he NEEDED to win his final challenge against either his goats in Amazon and couldn't.

As strategists, I like both Cirie & Rob C. Overall, though, my vote goes to Cirie because her social game is stronger. Rob's influential but he doesn't get into people's good graces as impeccably as Cirie does.

As for HvV, yes, it took a HII to get Cirie out but at least Westman was targeting her. No disrespect to the other die-hard fans but I'm not a sentimental Survivornista. All good/great players should be blindsided. Including my favorite(s).

What is with women dropping like flies during the pre-merge of these Redemption Island seasons?

I feel Aras made a really dumb move. Morett would have been a loyal vote for him and should have outlasted Boneham and Kat on his pecking order. Laura B. has been pretty good at challenges too so the reasoning of booting Morett (who really has only beaten her daughter in most of these challenges) to beat Brad at RI doesn't really fly for me. And if he wants to split up the Culpeppers, surely sending Monica there would accomplish that...

Also even though she only had five episodes, this was EASILY Candice's best season as a character and righteous personality and I wish she could have slayed Brad for good. Hopefully her husband and Laura can.

I couldn't say I have any favorites for this season but it is been good so far. I have a hunch that Tina will go far.
