I find Pat often very nice to talk to. So don't speak for everyone.

We disagreed about a lot, and stated those different opinions.

Pat is often inflammatory, certainly. I don't take everything he says at face value, and I'm not convinced that he's the bigot many perceive. I dislike that people who I count as my friends here have felt the sting of his words, and I wish Pat would temper his provocations.

Pat can be as subtle as he can be gross, and he's one of the intelligent guys around here.

I hope he comes back: and moreso, I hope when he does he remembers that everything that can be said rudely can be said politely too, but with wit.

Yeab I liked his views on England. He was polite to me but like anyone I suposse some don't take to others.

Oh i clicked, you couldn't not with the big red letters warning you against doing so.

A bunch of chopped off noggings, fucking horrific tbaft.

I doubt it was the only reason for the ban, like the two posters above it'll have been the continual rule breaking and trolling over thread after thread.

Hopefully we haven't lost him to the yawnville that is GS and he'll be back sharpish.

His posting on political and news related threads do make me dislike him and think his a rabid right wing racist. But I also think that its an act to get a raise out of people, and highlight their hypocrisies - he will tend to move on from a topic if you actual show facts or are just fairly polite to him.

In private on here, I actually quite like him - his a nice guy generally, and will often message me with support with things going on in my life.

His an odd character though, but not one I hate (at least never for long). I hope its only temporary, because it can be Ok to butt heads with him - although the last week or two have been unbearable in terms of the "debate" going on on here. I feel bad that I ever bothered to get myself worked up at all about any of the terror threads (and I apologies if I have been sharp with anyone on here), as they were all just bait by lots of people.

He also somehow managed to mention his name all over another forum that Pat's never entered. I'm sure RB's saddened himself as he secretly enjoyed baiting the man, but too bad he failed at the responses he had hoped for.

That's simply not true - Pat was big enough to stand up for himself and never play the victim card like you often do. I doubt he felt stalked, and if he said it it would have been publicly to get a rise out of someone.

I don't play victim I have apologised to posters on here before when I feel arguments are going to far but even if Pat himself never rose to it it had become apparent that RB was out to ridicule him from.pillar to post including making bait threads just to look for a reaction. I mean I can understand if he was attacking a certain post but is it really necessary to make constant threads for no reason just to say "I bet Grimshaw would love this" ?

I often question why we feel it's appropriate to publicly discuss what we didn't like about people when they are banned or self-delete. It happens almost every time, and right now I actually feel the temptation to join the conversation about Pat.

But how much good could possibly come from me talking about what I didn't like about him? What would it achieve?

This is the 'people you miss' thread, not the 'I'm glad they're gone and this is why' thread.

Grimshaw created thread after thread and made post after post full of malevolence and hate. He, more than any other poster has changed the dynamic and tone on JUB over the last year....making it a swamp of racial, religious,political and social intolerance. Many of his threads and posts were pure bait...so don't paint him as some kind of martyred saint.

To allow his most hateful positions and premises to go unchallenged would be to capitulate to indifference and by that, to allow ugly, de-humanizing statements to be the standard for JUB. Stalking be damned. If someone has the need to post an opinion....then each of us has the right... and I would say, the responsibility to respond to it if we find it to be anathema.

The fact that you have become his yes-man and water carrier is on you. Agree with him all you want. whether you really do believe in his all-white, reactionary conservative world view or just because you want to grind other's gears here....I don't care.

But Grimshaw is totally responsible for his own time out here. Not me.

I'm with David on this. I didn't find Pat's stuff as objectionable as others say they did. I also thought much of it was posted for effect, something which it clearly achieved.

I promised Grimshaw that I would never, ever let him turn JUB into a gathering ground or village square for white supremacists...that every racist post that he made would be answered. He dropped the whole 'Jews are responsible for everything bad' and picked up other narratives.....including colour based racism, misogyny, sexuality and body image shaming and Islam. Almost always subtle enough to walk that fine line of 'acceptability'...and I have no doubt that along the way, there are many... perhaps even you, who thought "I may not agree with everything he says, but...he has a point here about Islam/blacks/women/lesbians/tattoos/people on welfare/Asians/fat people on welfare/etc'.

The only time Grimshaw was neutralized was in the Belamo threads...where he could post sometimes thoughtfully and intelligently on literature and the arts. For anyone who is falsely claiming that he was being 'stalked' by me...have a look at those threads. You won't find a single response from me that undercuts or otherwise disagrees with his opinions and observations.

I have no idea why you didn't find his posting history objectionable and honestly, I don't think I really care.

I don't care if some want me on trial or blame me for his holiday. I had nothing to do with it because he had me on ignore so he was never even aware of my contra-posts. And if you and others really want JUB to be flooded with a hundred threads on the evils of muslims, then, when he returns, knock yourselves out.

I will continue to make posts and threads that mock and deride the obsessive and intellectually vacant attempts to de-humanize 1.2 billion people on earth by hanging every attack by madmen on them. The last time this happened and enough people didn't fight back against the lies, it allowed the Holocaust.
