Tasia kissed Patti!

I love that sample too but she came off more hoodrat than talented singer in that song. Now I love her funky side and I think she could still show that off without going into generic hoodrat mode.

But it's also my personal preference. I love music like 'When I See U'; great, sou, love music. And I'm not too fond of hip hop type music.....needless to say I won't be stanky legging it any time soon.

Huh? She knocked those 5th octave notes outta the park. Some of them were a bit quiet so you had to really pay attention to hear them. Without my keyboard I can only guestimate, I think I heard a few F#5s but she possibly went higher. ONLY A GUESS.

As far as the second version, the show was taped live and some of the performances were taped twice. I heard the same audios that were released months ago, they're definitely different. The runs in the broadcasted Lady Marmalade were different, and the broadcasted version of Somebody Loves You was only a verse and chorus, the early audio was the whole song.

I did say it was a good performance, just not as impressive. It's not about the high notes or range...the delivery itself in terms of expressiveness wasn't as good. It was a good performance most definately but it didn't wow me...like she did on Lady Marmalade. But that's me...it's subjective.

She IS a hoodrat.
There's the beauty of it, it's not generic, it's genuine. It's who she really is. It's who most of these divas are, they just mask it behind expensive clothes and pounds of make-up. I like Tasia's 'round-the-way demeanor, it adds to hear appeal that she's just real as hell.
You gotta see some of her interviews or candid videos, the girl is from High Point and it shows.
Stanky legging? I can't keep up with you guys your slang.

You see I completely disagree with that. Is she ghetto? Hell yes. But this girl is so much more than a hoodrat imo. She has so much more class than these average hoodrats walking around.

One of the things I love Tasia is cause I identify with her. She's not the most polished person on Earth. She's real. She's raw. But that doesn't make her a hoodrat.

Oh and 'stanky legging' is a new dance craze I saw on BET today. I watch BET once or twice a year and I just happened to turn to it when this video came on. Completely ridiculous in every shape and form.

Fantasia is amazing, seen her live 2xs...HUGE fanatic since Idol and she never plays around, wow!! Look forward to the next album.

No disrespect to Aretha, but Patti's show and the performances are MUCH better! A great line up of singers though...Fantasia, J-Hud, Chrisette Michelle (love "If I Had My Way"), Yolanda Adams, Brian McKnight, and Mario ("Music for Love")!

Ok let's not beat the old and tired "Aretha VS Patti" dead horse. They're both quite different vocalists, with different approaches to a song, with their own qualities and they both appreciate each other. Period.

Her entire persona is a picture-perfect image of hoodrat. Don't you know where she comes from? Have you ever seen her off-camera? She's unapologetically ghetto. Young Dro? That's not too classy a boyfriend.

Just look at that walk.

She has a DIRTY mouth too, she was doin' a show here in Norf Kak and said to someone in the audience, something to the effect of "Yall motherfuckers need to shut the fuck up."

You see, the word 'hoodrat' has such a negative tone to it for me, I just can't imagine calling Tasia a hoodrat.
