Test your knowledge of Islam

The big thing I think is that christians dont understand that Isa (Jesus) is an important figure in Islam.

thanks for checking it out, guys

I'm not interested in converting anyone, I just hope we all would try to understand our commonalities more

there would be much less arguing if the faiths focused on similarities instead of differences

11 out of 18 right here too... And I was aware that Jesus is considered an important figure in Islam.

12 out of 18. Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

12 out of 18. Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

perhaps we are all the sons and daughters of god

isnt that really what he meant to say?;)

in any case, I dont want any arguing in this thread over ideology. It is not why it was created.

please, as a favor to me?

Alright....my atheistic agenda aside, I definitely agree that people should try to understand each other's belief systems. I just dont think propositions of those systems should be above debate. There is a lot of beautiful ideas in Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Old Norse, Chicksaw...whatever...I guess its these optimistic visions that people should focus on. But the idea that progress is assured, or that responisbility isnt ultimately placed on the shoulders of human beings for making THIS world a better place drives me crazy!!!

not above debate

just not the topic of this thread ;)

theres a big difference

thanks for your input!!

I had hoped to do better. I only got 11 of 18! Good thread Andreus!!

I took the test and certainly lack some erudition. It probably is the same with many other religions which abound on this planet and which all believe they are "the only one" when they are only sects which have succeeded.

I have been raised in the catholic religion and at seventeen revolted against all the oddities and untruths.

It is the same in all the religions.

The three monotheist religions, jews, christians ans moslems have been responsible for more deaths than the last World War.

The safest one is bhuddism, but you still have to have received the "gift" to believe.

Each one is own, but I cannot accept people who want to force the others to live following their religious precepts, whatever they may be.

If you are weak enough to need a religion, good for you.
But don't try to convince the others that you are right.
I won't try to convince you.

getting close to flaming with that weak for religion comment

i am a very respectfull kind of man ;)

if respect cant be given freely i will ask a mod for help to remove the debris

thanks again

ohh and one thing I would liek to say on topic here....

more of a question really...

what question suprised you in the quiz the most?

I probably shouldn't have been so forceful in my previous reply, as re-reading I see that you only want us to test the general knowledge of islam.

If only religions could be considered as object of culture and not cult !

I only got 8 right :( but I have been trying to study a little lately. I have a lot more to learn evidently

Shiaa believe in a theocratic government

Iran, Al Queda, and Hizbollah are the examples of that belief system. Unfortunately they enmesh faith so much in politics that people have a hard time telling the difference.

The Shiaa are also prone to exagerated behaviors such as self flagelation.

why they do that is very complicated ;)

I only got 6 out of 18 correct.....I guess that I need some tutoring on Islam.....

So I presume you are a Sunni?

neither

I am Ijtihadi

we are much different from the rest

mostly we are considered infidel in the mid east because we are considered too liberal.

we are basically the gnostic Muslims. We believe that you have to read the books yourself and find their applications in your life.
