The Amazing Race 13

A 30 minute penalty is normally imposed when a team wrongly benefits from misreading a clue by doing something that cannot be fixed at the end of the leg. Since it was the last thing that they had to do, it was easier to have Phil make them retrace their steps and return to the pitstop on foot.

Editing often removes insignificant events from the show. It has been widely reported that Sarah & Terrance were so far behind (they failed at the FF and had to basically start the leg over) that showing the 30 minute additional penalty that Dandrew might have actually received would be pointless as they would still not even have been close to eliminated. Watching Dan pace for 30 minutes would have been bad TV anyway.

Of course the promo is a tease to make it look like Nick & Starr are in trouble and the worst thing that will prob happen is a predetermined non-elim and a speed bump for the following week like the one that Ken & Tina were able to bounce back from.

It seemed like all of them were having a problem with reading comprehension this week. "Make your way on foot", OK, we better get a cab. I think all of them actually had someone in their team say that except for one and then the other one caught it. If you are this far in the race, you should know to read each clue and read it often. I thought it was funny that Tina didnt read the clue to look at the bottom of the glass and went to return the suit when it didnt say to do that. This isnt the first leg. Doing stupid things like that this far in to the race will cost someone the game.

You're forgetting how the long term effects of stress, travel and not getting the sleep you crave affect people after a certain length of time and add a whole new dimension to the race.

The pits stops are only 12 hours; take away the time you need to eat and bathe as well as anything that needs to get filmed as extras for the show and the website and you're not getting a ton of sleep/wind down time.

Watching Dan was hilarious. I cant believe they spent $100 on shoes either. They better be glad that taxi driver didnt call the cops on them.
I'm so glad that Toni and Dallas came in first.

LOVED tonight's episode! I was happy that Toni and Dallas finally came in first place and won that prize. Nick and Starr came so close to elimination that even I wanted to kill their taxi driver! However, Nick was adorable as always. :D I hope Dandrew get eliminated next week!

Agreed. I love the relationship between Dallas and his Mom. I also liked Nick a lot because he kept his cool and kept Starr from completely blowing off. It has to be frustrating as hell to be in a foreign country and have taxi drivers that are smug, non-responsive and never know where they are going.

Dandrew is a whole other story. These two are like an old comedy reel. Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy. Mothers don't let your babies grow up to be dependent, rakish, inept. But the boys have had luck on their side by just squealing through.

Still in Tony and Dallas mode.

If Dandrew makes it to the Top 3, I will be devastated! The remaining 3 clearly deserve to be there. Dandrew just got lucky and managed to squeak past elimination week after week. Not it's down to the wire and I don't think they have enough motivation left in them to actually beat one of the other three for a Top 3 spot, let alone WIN the whole thing. And if they do win, I will just... ugh.

But then again, they can squeak by all they want... it is true that only one 1st place spot matters, and that's at the end. If Dandrew somehow makes it to Top 3 and win, I hope they do it while everyone is at the top of their game, and not because other teams faltered...

... I'm devastated now. Although, I'm not as devastated as I thought... Dandrew didn't show as much of their stupidity this episode, and it saved their asses. So they're in the Top 3. If they WIN then... I seriously don't know.

I actually almost cried during tonight's episode for the eliminated team. After that "mistake" the eliminated team made (losing the passport and money), I just had a deep sinking feeling that they were going to get eliminated. When they and Dandrew caught up to the girl with the shetland pony, and the shetland pony excused the soon-to-be eliminated team away, I just gave in to that idea. You could just see the guilt in the team member who lost the passport and money.

... lol I'm being vague on purpose. I refuse to acknowledge that they were actually eliminated! :(

I know what you mean Lurker :(

Does anyone think they got the easy way out on the Speed Bump? I mean they danced awful

I thought the speed bump was a joke and the boys were a joke. I still don't think they came close to doing that dance - but alas I don't think our players could have caught up anyway. It was a heartbreaking moment when Phil approached them.

That was complete bullshit. They didn't even come close to doing the right moves. If they win, I will be pissed. At least two of my favorite teams are in the finals. I hope that Ryan and Starr win.

Letting Dandrew "earn" their Speed Bump pass on what appeared to be the 2nd try was a joke - they messed up most of the steps and weren't in rhythm with the troupe.

Toni should have done that Roadblock. It seemed obvious that the long-term exhaustion and stress of the race had hit Dallas or else he would have been far more careful with the cash/passport pouch. Pity, I would have liked to see them win but even with editing trying to make it look close, it was getting dark when Phil found them, quite awhile after the other 3 teams had checked in.

So they join great teams like Cha Cha Cha, Bowling Moms and the Blondies in almost-ran category.

It was so sad when Dallas lost that bag and i almost tcried when they were begging for money.

Tina is such a bitch so i dont think i want them to win.

I kinda like the guys now so i think i want them to pull a come from behind victory next week.

I wouldnt be disappointed if Nick and Star won though as they played the game well.

Nick and Starr now have the record for most legs won - 6, breaking the tie with Colin (my ox is broken) and Christie (can't eat caviar) from Season 5.

I've decided that I would like Ken and Nick to win. I don't like Starr and I hate Tina.

Could somebody change the teams?

The only racer left that I genuinely like is Ken. He has to put up with so much of Tina's shit. I guess I'm rooting for Ken and Tina to win...

Yeah, Nick and Starr have won the most legs in the history of the show (or at least tied with another team from another season) and if they win this final leg they'll set show history. But it won't be an exciting win, and I don't really want them to win even though they're the "strongest" team left. Nothing about this team makes me want to root for them. Nick has proven to be a manipulative fox and Starr is just a whiny bitch. Am I supposed to care about their brother/sister relationship? The show hasn't focused that much on that aspect, IMO.

6 wins is the record, Colin & Christie from TAR5 had 5 wins prior.

I'm not leaking a spoiler but with all the hype about them winning all the legs they have I suspect they're gonna finish in 2nd. Dandrew will get lost somewhere and Tina & Ken will take the win.

So what does winning most of the legs have to do with anything.

Its a TV show but its real life and in real life if you are the best you will win. So not because they keep winning means they wont win the whole thing.

It would make for good TV is the guys won but its not a scripted show its reality TV so the better team will win and Nick and Star have played teh game well from day one.

Infact it could also be argued that its good TV to see a team master the game from day one and just take it all. It will be a lesson for future contestants on how to play to make for more exciting races in the future.
