I finally did the stupid duet in the pumpkin place and it only took about 30 mins. I'm actually enjoying the game a lot more now (I was a bit underwhelmed with the Cistern dungeon). I still feel personally that the sometimes poor response from movement with the wiimote is what prevents this game from being perfect.
You guys had trouble diving to get the rattle? I got it on my first try. Just get a running start and be smooth, haha. I really haven't had many issues with controls. I think they are simply top-notch and don't get any better than this. Even in the Fun Fun Island mini-game, I can easily swoop down and get every ring.
I just did the rattle sidequest and I lol'd over the fact that I slept in the bed next to his wife to change to morning while he can't sleep. The funny thing is that the stone says to dive off the waterfall but it's pretty much impossible to land in the nest: "what do I know, I'm a stone". I did what some other posted and it worked just as well.
I don't get why everyone is fapping over the ship dungeon. I honestly felt it was nothing special. The concept did remind of the Snowhead temple a bit although in this game, what idea isn't stolen from a previous Zelda game?

Instead of having those stupid bobo guys on the ship, I longed for some Gerudo girls. Just like in OoT when the carpenter's get captured by the girls, the pirate guys could have done the same.
Despite my frustration, I enjoyed the mining facility, which from what I have read, most people didn't like.
I sighed when the boss shows up again as a "miniboss" in the mine cart area.
My favorite boss atm is probably the Cistern boss.

There can't be any humans down in the surface world, though, because all the humans that were saved were sent to the sky. I think that's why they didn't do that. And it would probably too familiar. XD Though I did love that in OoT.
And I didn't mind seeing that scorpion boss again. But I did enjoy the dungeon. I've all enjoyed all of them.
I think my big hubbub is that I haven't been "wowed" by any of the dungeons in SS but that doesn't make them bad either. The only one in TP that made me gasp was the sky temple and that was due to how fucking huge it was with an equally big boss fight too.
I really liked the dungeons in this game. You're right, none were exceptionally unique and distinct. I mean, we've seen all of this before. Lava, forest, water, etc. The ship one was, in my opinion, distinct and unique, though. It's my favorite one. Same with the final dungeon. Was neat, too.
^ I only got to play my brother's game for a few minutes, but his looked better than that. Are you sure you just don't have a bad copy? Maybe you should trade it in and get another one.
I'd say just continue playing the game, Pianist. I really still think they couldn't have done much better than what they did. Still, the "moving painting" style is really nice. I have enjoyed that aspect of the presentation very much so.
I beginning to get very annoyed by the game. I mean .. the puzzles are GREAT. But damn .. give me some damn puzzles. Not another fucking "hey let's make the next progress as fucking annoying as possible" quest.
(don't even get me started on the content-recycling .. that's the 4th time for that area!)
Want to fight the flying fish monster? Sure you need to learn the special attack first. Here it is. Now you have to prove that you can handle it in a mini game within 120 seconds. Oh yeah, we know the controls for flying the bird suck balls. Enjoy that game!
Wanna have the water dragons part of the last song? Well here are the notes, spread out under water. It's some fun to catch the first few, but hey .. we have to add a bit more of annoying here, too! So we made the notes disappear if you are too slow and force you to collect 20 of them in a row that's almost impossible to get with that clunky underwater steering. Great idea!
Oh by the way .. here is the banished one again, you surely enjoyed defeating him the last 20 times!
Apart from that .. I do love the cocky scrap robot

Well, if all we do is just dungeons and puzzles within the dungeons, that can get boring, too. I enjoyed collecting those song pieces..... But this game is no different than other Zelda games. They all have a strong concentration on quest-like objectives. Is this one of your first Zelda titles?
You're right, I'm just saying that there wasn't any surprises with environments. Except the ship one, at least for me. Not that the other dungeons were bad! They were great.

I played Zelda 1+2 on the NES. I played a Link to the past on the SNES. I played Link's Awakening (my fav) on the Gameboy and Twilight Princess on the Wii. So nope, no newbie here. And nope, I was never that much annoyed by any parts of the other Zelda games.
