Have The Sims on my PC, PS2, and PS3. It's a fun game but I got real tired of it. Probably because they took out my expansion pack for Pets.

Hah, fun. Remember the first PC Sims? Where everything was in a predefined colour and you couldn't leave your house with your Sims? Good times.

I was addicted to the game for about three days. At the point where I figured out that I sucked horribly at it, I decided to find another addiction.

I think both of my cats died, my Sims peed on himself, etc. I didn't burn the house down or set anything on fire, though..

:rotflmao: (*8*)

The Sims had all those small details that you never found on the newer games. I liked the sound a woman made when she went to the restroom and saw the toilet seat was up. She would go "Ow!" and put it down.

The prank calls were funny too since you would get someone calling you at 3 in the morning and they would say "The end is near make preparations "

So many people used Sims 2 to make all these weird silly videos. This one is my favorite.

I was a HUGE Sims fan! \:/

I first played the original game in 2000, and spent years going through all the expansion packs of it.

Then onto The Sims 2 a few years back - but I only got as far as the first expansion pack, and I've fallen behind since and haven't played the other packs or even seen The Sims 3.

I still remember my fave three guys (all straight) from The Sims 2 and the names I gave them:

Joel Stevenson - Age about 25, medium skin colour, handsome features, black crew-cut hair, stubble, jeans. He was a perfect alpha male guy who got along with everyone and was really cool and fit and into sports (that was his job) and friendly and good-looking. And he was the first guy I created in The Sims 2. I would even go as far as to say that I got emotionally attached to him. I used to make him nap on the couch because he looked so sweet, just lying there sleeping. !oops!

(you must bear in mind that before JUB changed my life, I was a terribly anti-social, closeted, semi-recluse with no friends) :(

Tyrone Masterson - Age about 30, black skin colour, harsh features, black jacket and black woollen cap. He was SUPPOSED to be this tough, cold, hard character to suit his criminal lifestyle (that was his job) but quite unintentionally, he turned out to be this really sweet, gentle, caring, ordinary guy. I planned to have him always live alone to suit his image, but I eventually decided to move him in with Joel as flat-mates.

Sebastian Grieg - Age about 18, white skin colour, boyish features, cargo pants and military-style T-shirt, shaved blond hair. I only created him to get enough money into the household by moving him in with the other two, so that the three of them could move into that biggest most expensive house. He was a fun-loving and playful guy who was always messing around, and he slept with plenty girlfirends, etc.

I haven't played that game, or seen those guys, in about 3 years, but you can tell what little of a life I had in 2007/2008 from what I've said. I invested SO MUCH of my time into a load of fictional characters, not just those three, but about ten or twenty. I guess it was my equivalent to having 'friends' back then. I don't think that today in 2011, I'd have enough time or patience to revisit The Sims and play it with as much energy and enthusiasm as I once did. My life has moved on.

But I'll always remember Joel, Tyrone, and Sebastian.

Is the Sims 3 playable on it own or does it need expansion packs to really enjoy it?

If you played Sims 2 and you go from Sims 2 to Sims 3 you'll feel like a lot's missing. The expansion packs aren't required but it's fun to have more items and have more freedom when you get more expansion packs. The game is playable on it's own but when I heard you get this and get to do that on the expansions it made me want to go out and buy them.

^ Have only played the original Sims (no expansions). Never played The Sims 2. (My system couldn't handle it.)

I can't afford a bunch of expansion packs, though.

Sims 3 won't be any different than Sims 2 just better looking models.

They released The Sims complete collection which has all expansions pack as on one DVD. It was a good game but for some reason kept crashing a lot on me.

Love the Sims, though I don't play it as much as I should. I have the base game along with World Adventures, Ambitions, and Late Night. If your wondering what the best expansion of those 3 are, it would be Late Night, imo.

There are plenty of mods to make it suited for an M rating. xD

sexysims2.com, it's a sister site to modthesims2.com and uses the same username/password. Has some awesome mods. Though I avoid many item mods as I'm more of a builder and uploading to the exchange.

I've been wanting to get my hands on Late Night but the other night I saw it for like $40 bucks and that's just insane so it must be the more popular Expansion pack. I'm still waiting for a pets expansion cause I know my Sims are lonely without them.

I always wait till there's a great sale going on or when I've racked up enough Best Buy points to get gift certificates. Though I regret getting the 3 expansion packs now as Steam now sells them and sense being released on Steam, I've seen them on sale twice for about 20 bucks a pop. Wish I could transfer my disk key's to also be steam keys.

I too am waiting for the pets expansion. Granted, I'll like it for the items and added features, not so much for the animals.

Your Sims 2 pics bring back some memories! :D

I recognise that wastepaper bin.
I remember feeding milk bottles to babies.
They always fell on that treadmill if they weren't skilled.
They always played that pool table even if their fun level was high.

Lovely guys you've just posted there! :luv:

But I DO NOT remember erect dicks!

What kind of mods and patches have you been installing? Naughty Joswan!

My sims never look this good

How do you get the nice outfits?

I just realized the Sims Medieval was released...

Anyone try it? Is it good?

I love this series. The massive amount of customization available and being able to control every moment of your creations' lives? Awesome.

But hey, sometimes its best to not do a damn thing and see a random moment of hilarity manifest all by itself.
