I wonder if the reason that the album is so bad is that she, like a few other artists, she's pissed at WB. The songs I've heard are just abysmal.

I'm waiting for the bonus track Ring My Bell; apparently Miles Away is used as the the theme song for J-sitcom 'Change' in May, featuring Takuya Kimura, who cooked for her on Smap x Smap a few years back. So it's likely to be her next single.

I also love it. Its a little more mainstream friendly than Confessions, but its still great.

I dont get why Madonna went back to her dance music when Ray of Light was acclaimed and like by many.

Sure, I want dance music but do more stuff like in the album Ray of Light


Of course, this is coming from a guy who has had '4 minutes ' playing in my head for days and I liked her duet with Britney

I think "4 minutes" is the worst single she's ever had... I think it's dreadful. But I guess to each their own.

I personally am not a Madonna fan. I am 200% Mariah Carey's Lamb, but I do have to say everytime I hear
"4 Minutes" on the radio, I turn it up. The beat is great. Has anyone else noticed that it's mostly Justin though? I read on Billboard that the first hearing of the song was mostly Madonna, but the final version is a lot less Madonna. Ahh, to me, Mariah will always be my favorite. Thank God her album is #1!! :) "Confessioins" didn't do too well here in US, but overseas it did well. It sold about 8 million copies worldwide and about 1.7 million in America (I believe). Mariah's "Mimi" sold about 10 million worldwide and 5.8 million in the US. I don't think Madonna is over, but I do think this album will fade like her last few. But who knows...anything can happen. She's a great performer, so she'll kick ass on tour.

I have to say i never got the whole Mariah thing? Her voice has always sounded like a dying cat to me. She pushes out the notes like she's taking a shit while doing it. She tries way to hard and has no fashion sense. Just don't get it? Madonna will continue on as she always has. She is not stuck in a time warp like Mariah is. And that 'lamb" thing makes me wanna hurl.lol, so fake.

I like both Mariah and Madonna. Mariah's E=MC2 album sold 463,000 copies! It was almost certified gold already! It's her highest debuting album ever. I assume Madonna's will do about the same.

Gee the songs i have heard from this album are all awesome! check out miles away, and my fave SO FAR , She's not me.. def a great album to look forward too, i can not wait for my copy to be delivered!

I know i am gonna play it to death, just like COADF .. awesome album too!!

I had a party last week, about 25 gay guys, and I played Hard Candy. Several people asked me to turn it off and several left to go to another room in the apartment. It is awful. I am a huge Madonna fan but i cannot bring myself to listen to this. It sounds like a lost eighties album. Cheesey synthaziers, childish lyrics, chipmunky voice.

Madonna - what did you do? bad girl!

Oh Man!! this album is rocking! i must admit that when i first listened to it, i thought, ummmm COADF was Awesome and this is rubbish!! but now i am hooked!!

Like so many things , we tend to expect way to much from certain artists , without giving their new stuff time to show us how good it is..

We EXPECT awesome things from Madonna , coz she is MADONNA! and becoz she changes her sound, image etc so often we are always alittle let down when her new album come out, coz we are still so in awe of her previous album! i loved COADF ... and wanted this one to be the same sound etc.. and its not..

Give it time and i can bet ya , people will be loving this album! the songs are catchy , and the melodies are great.. Summer is coming and this is the album i will be pumping out my speakers all the way through!!!

I've been listening to the album for a few hours now & I really love most of the songs. Right now, I am so into She's Not Me! It's so bloody catchy & fun! The early 80s vibes on Heartbeat & Give It 2 Me is absolutely awesome! Miles Away & Devil are lush & beautiful. Beat Goes On has become quite the thumper but I feel the leaked demo was a lot better & more sensuous. Candy Shop is a lil more layered than the one that leaked but still it's bland imo.

I can't seem to get into Incredible, Dance 2Nite but the worst of the lot has got to be Spanish Lessons - a big time cringe that can snap one's back! Totally urghh!

Still, a great pop album & I think I'm gonna love this one more than COADF in time cos it's got a nice combination of that early 80s/New Order sound to it which I love yet it's still very much here & now. Great job M!

are there any songs on this album that come in a different version than their original album version?

on amazon, it lists different versions of each song:
-the like a prayer clip sounds different the the original
-the songs that are noted "edit version" sound like the original, but are they??? maybe they're of the single version, which is basically the same as the original album version, but shorter???
