I remember people complaining about the Carver storyline in season 3, but that made the show compelling and got it some of its highest ratings ever. The first two seasons were cool and had some substance, something later seasons totally lack. Season 4 is where things got shaky, and season 5 is where things collapsed. Christian having breast cancer is nothing terribly surprising. The cancer basically functions the same as his "rape" in season 3 did. It affects his manhood and sense of sexuality, but he never learns a lesson about not being a selfish asshole for longer than an episode or two.
There is a sex scene every 5-10 minutes on the show now, and at this point there's nothing sexy about it. They just seem like time wasters.
Sean is STILL chasing Julia.

And I don't know where Matt is lately, now that he's off the drugs.
These characters do not grow. It's like they've hit a wall and they're stuck being these unlikable caricatures, except now they reside in California rather than Florida.
