Following the events after the US ending, Sarah has escaped from the cave and has found aid at a nearby hospital. Now, mentally scarred and unable to speak, she helps lead a search and rescue team back to the cave in hopes of finding survivors. Any fans of the first movie?

Yep .. definitely a fan. One of the better horror/shocker flicks.

But TheDescent2? Ugh .. this probably won't be so good

I thought the original ending was an anti-climax. There was a great movie in there somewhere, but Neil Marshall did a far better job on Dog Soldiers.

The Descent took too many wrong turns and the clichés had a bad tendency of not working.

I can't imagine that the second movie that Neil Marshall wasn't even involved in is better.

Hang on. They ALL died in the first one. How the fuck is she in hospital. if the last shot of the film is her finally snapping and sharing a birthday cake with her dead daughter?

The ending with the birthday cake was only in the DVD the Theatre release had the real ending where she escapes the cave and is in the car and her dead friend appears she screams and it ends the theatre ending was a million times better then the dvd

That wasn't in the theatre version I saw.

I'm pretty sure that in an extra on the DVD, it was said that the US theatre version has the "good ending" where she gets away, but the British theatre version had the original "bad ending." Something about thinking that US audiences wouldn't take well to everyone dying and a bad ending.

The ending with the birthday cake is the real ending. It was changed for the U.S. theatrical release. To me, the original UK "downbeat" ending is much better instead of a cheesy tacked-on "happy" ending.

I'm interested in seeing the sequel. I suppose Sarah somehow finds her way out (after the daughter/birthday cake delusion).

I was surprised by how good the Descent was. The sequel doesn't look so good. Neil Marshall is borrowing a bit too much from Aliens here with this story. And it makes no sense that Sarah would go back; she is no Ellen Ripley. I was hoping the sequel would be a about a whole new group of people in a different location and with a different threat.

Oh yeah I recently saw his debut film Dog Soldiers. It was so horrible on all levels, I couldn't believe it.

Seeing that she was 'reborn' in the pool of blood, and is so crazy at this point that she can easily rip the creatures to shreds, the only thing that is necessary for her to survive is for her to find the other entrance before she's too exhausted to kill the creatures.

Now I admit, the ending didn't make that plausible, but it's not that much of a stretch.

I just watched the trailer over at traileraddict.com --- looks good.

Spoiler in white text: From the trailer, it looks like Juno is still alive down in the cave. That bitch!!

I hated the thrill-seeker in The Descent and totally saw coming what happened to her.

I really enjoyed the first one.

When I saw the trailer for the 2nd one I also felt that it had an 'Aliens' vibe to it.

Look forward to seeing it.

I waited for part 1 to come out on DVD...I LOVED it....I will check out part 2 @ the theatre..

Good points, whisperer. :)

One thing, tough (in white): The girl Juno accidentially injured and left for dead asked Sarah to kill her.

I noticed a September release date for the U.S.

i'm just wondering if:

spoiler thing ain't workin'...so never mind i guess
