  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

these need to be a national standard for spaghetti-

Any objections? Oh. Right. It doesn't matter cuz I'm in charge. It is so ordered by your kween. #youaredismissed

Caramelized onions? That's it. I'm taking you off Mount Rushmore and replacing you with Dwayne, Rog, Rerun and I don't know, maybe O.J.

You could put caramelized onions on a chocolate cake and I'd eat it. :gogirl:

As a reality check, try a tin of spaghetti with sauce & meat from the grocery store - it will make you rethink your childhood! 🤣

I am not going to disagree.

But I love anything in pasta.

I never had this stuff. I guess my mother loved me enough that she avoided buying this sort of thing. Although she did use that packaged spaghetti seasoning, so I guess she only had so much love for me.

I think that SpaghettiOs--along with products like Hamburger Helper, which my mother also never bothered with--seemed a bit exotic...

Although--for those who grew up with this stuff--trying it now might not make "rethinking childhood" entirely valid. I only theorize here, but given the decline of quality so many products, it seems likely that the canned pasta product of today isn't what it was 40+ years ago.

One thing I like about pasta is how flexible it is.

It's a good thing I'm not terrorized of The Evil Carb!

Where are we going with this? It's as gross as it sounds or surprisingly you can't tell the difference between this and grandma's spaghetti?

I've had the whole spectrum of "food from a can" experiences.

^ I have to say....I can't even even.

I could be on my deathbed and get up to whip up some fresh pasta with stuff (anything fresh or our own tomato sauce) on it and then die happy.

In fact I am adding a notation to the living will part of my will.

I would give the Heinz Spaghetti and Meatballs a try. I might like it. It might be better than Chef Boyardee.
I do expect the meatballs to be fine ground rubbery things and the pasta overcooked.

Getting waterboarded at a soccer riot is better than Chef Boyardee.
