On-Topic Trump Bans Syrian Refugees

With all the other TrumpCo. clusterfucks right now...we might be inclined to forget that his muslim ban is still tying up court time.

But Trump has been ordered to turn over the Rudy Giuliani memo that may be the underpinning for Muslim Ban v1.0.

Given that Trump himself publicly declared that Muslim Ban v2.0 was just Muslim Ban v1.0, and that he had tasked Giuliani with helping him find a 'legal' way to do it.....uh oh. This is now going to be in the court record for all time.

He made it clear that he wanted to exclude the Muslim refugees, and had the support of the American people.

No.

He doesn't have the support of the American people.

He has no mandate.

No THEY did not.

His core base of racist islamophobes might have, but decent Americans did not and do not.

Well good for you for citing an article that actually talks to the shameful attitude of Americans when it came to Syrian refugee settlement in 2015, just after the Paris terror attacks.

As the author notes:

Unfortunately, this is well in line with America’s history with refugees. In 1948, a Gallup poll found that 57 percent of Americans would disapprove of resettling 10,000 displaced Europeans in their state. In 1975, only 36 percent of Americans wanted to take in Vietnamese refugees; in 1980, 71 percent of Americans were against Cuban refugees coming to the U.S. Some habits die hard.

But it was a single, flawed poll by Bloomberg and quite out of date by the time that the hysteria over the Paris attacks (which had nothing to do with Syrian refugees anyway) was cooled down.

The majority of Americans did not vote for Trump.

Pure.

And.

Simple.

So stop running on about how all the Americans supported his Muslim Ban.

They didn't.

And even if there was a populist swell against people of a particular race or religion.....the law doesn't permit it. Which is why TrumpCo. is taking a shellacking in the Courts.

A plurality of Americans voted for Trump, with the exception of the recent immigrant population of California.

Why do you constantly lie? You are always caught telling lies and spreading misinformation. What do you get out of constantly being proved wrong?

I can't believe the utter absurdity of this total, blatant lie.

Too many Americans voted for NOBODY and stayed home, for one thing.

Don't you mean too many democrats stayed at home? Republicans historically turn out at to vote better than dems. It is what responsible, patriotic, tax paying citizens do.

You do realize that this is a complete lie, don't you?

Oh right.

Probably not.

See

Recent immigration to CA has been so high it has reduced whites to a minority, and immigrants strongly tend to vote democrat, so clearly it was the immigrant vote which gave Hillary the plurality in CA.

It doesn't change shit.

He got nearly 3 million fewer votes. You might want to think they don't count, but they do. Remember that California ranks as the 6th LARGEST in the world. That means that all their votes on anything that happens in the US mean something. All of its citizens also help fund the hard luck red states. So just because the racists in America think that brown people's votes don't count as much as theirs....they do.

So, but for the Electoral College, recent immigrants would control our country, imposing high taxes on Americans and requiring benefits like socialized medicine for themselves. That of course was the purpose behind the priority of Obama and democrats for high immigration.
