A posting on ABCNEWS.COM of an unredacted instant message sessions between Rep. Mark Foley and a former congressional page has exposed the identity of the now 21 year-old accuser.

The website PASSIONATE AMERICA detailed the startling exposure late Wednesday.

ABCNEWS said in a statement: "We go to great lengths to prevent the names of alleged sex crime victims from being revealed. On Friday there was a very brief technical glitch on our site which was overridden immediately. It is possible that during that very brief interval a screen name could have been captured. Reviews of the site since then show no unredacted screen names."

On Tuesday ABC news released a high-impact instant message exchange between Foley and, as ABC explained, a young man "under the age of 18."

ABC headlined the story: "New Foley Instant Messages; Had Internet Sex While Awaiting House Vote"

But upon reviewing the records, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned, the young man was in fact over the age of 18 at the time of the exchange.

A network source explains, messages with the young man and disgraced former Congressman Foley took place before and after the 18th birthday.

There is still a lot more to be "coming out" about Foley's behaviour especially over these most recent years.

I doubt that there will be any cause for celebration.

And the sooner this whole matter is divided between homosexuality and pedophlia the better it is. There needs to be a complete dis-association between the two issues.

Even the police officers who deal with sexual child abuse cases and the FBI, make that distinction very clear in their presentations to classes being taught about sexual child abuse. Personal experience on this comment.

Over all I saw that story too and posted it in some of the more acromonous threads. My point in doing so was not to defend, because the man was in a position of power and could bring that to bear, but also he was hypocritical concerning his public persona and his private life, but to show it is best to await to hear the whole story before we make major pronoucements, etc. It is disappointing to me to see how we have become a nation not interested in what is really going on but glued to the salacious, titillating, unimportant gossip and lowest common gutter tit-bits that happen. We worry not about how Congress is controlled by big money interests, selling out our freedoms for a fake power and glory. So perhaps it serves to make us think, but I will not hold my breath on that, at least for now.

In DC and MOST states in the U.S. 16 year olds have the right of consent to mutual sex!

I too am NOT defending people who act upon children; but I know when I was 16, I knew the difference from right and wrong and I also knew what I wanted and knew how to get it if I wanted it!

Pages are NOT angels and I'm sure they are pretty flamboyuant when it comes to snuggling up to the members of congress!

That being said, MEN should NOT jump their bones on the earliest opportunity either!
