Executive Produced by Steven Spielberg and created by the Academy Award winning writer of Juno, the SHOWTIME Original Series "United States of Tara" is back for an all-new second season. Suburban wife and mother Tara Gregson (Emmy Award winner Toni Collette) juggles her family and career while suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder — a condition formerly known as multiple personality disorder. It's never a dull moment in the Gregson household, as Tara's supportive husband Max and their two teenaged children, Kate and Marshall, try to lead as much of a "normal" life as possible.

The season premiere is Monday, March 22nd.

I just watched them. The show is a little different than last season, but not in a bad way. I really like Joey Lauren Adams and her character's affair with "Buck." We are introduced to her in the first episode, as well as two of Marshall's gay classmates and a gay couple that lives down the block. There's lots of gay representation.

I like the new mystery that seems to be developing with Tara which is triggered by a visit to her (dead) neighbor's house. It has a very dark, creepy feel. There's also a new character named Lynda (played by Viola Davis) who is introduced through Kate and she has kind of an interesting vibe. I have no clue what her purpose is, but something tells me she's going to play an important role this season.

The one thing I'm not crazy about is Marshall's story. Last season, he was gay and fabulous and everyone accepted it and that was that. This season, he's kind of rebelling against his sexuality (because he doesn't identify with the "gay cliche?") and he even makes out with a girl in episode two. I don't really like that. However, I do like the dynamic between him and his bitchy gay Chris Crocker-esque classmate.

Overall, I think this season has lots of potential. It's not perfect, but it's still plenty enjoyable.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I loved the character in the first season. He was gay, a little shy and maybe a little insecure. But he was one of the best gay characters that I have ever seen. The portrayal of his relationship with his parents was awesome. Especially the scenes with his father. His sister teased him a little bit but that's exactly what a sister is supposed to do. :D Nobody seemed to care that he was gay and now he kisses this girl and is all weird about being gay. I really don't like this developement.

But the rest of the new episodes was great. I loved Buck and the lezzie bartender. :p
And I'm really looking forward to the new Alter. <<This forum really needs Spoiler Tags. ^^

And I'm REALLY looking forward to finding out more about the reason why she has DID, who destroyed the wallpainting and what the hell is up with Gimme.

so excited for this to start!! I may have to watch the episodes online today cause I like to cheat...lol. Also really excited for Nurse Jackie and Breaking Bad to start tonight and tomorrow!

I'm pissed that the new seasons of Nurse Jackie and United States of Tara start while I'm in college :grrr:.

Yess! I watched the whole season last month! So excited for this!!

just watched the first 2 eps....enjoyed them....shaped up some interesting things(did something happen to Tara in the neighbors house? why does she go into the closet in his house?)

Charmaine was hilarious as usual, Marshall's story is interesting....

It is mentioned a few times that the neighbor's house is "very 70's," so maybe going inside it and seeing all the 70's decor triggered memories from when she was a little girl. I don't think anything actually happened to her in that particular house.

okay, i just watched them and that was def' the fix i needed,

i actually have the patience to wait for episode three on tv.

and whoever that guy is playing the marshal character is kicking major ass.

Just finished watching the first two episodes, and I'm hooked in again. I don't know where Kate's storyline going but good casting Viola Davis. I like Marshall's storyline with him being more exposed to being gay. Wow that boy Lionel is too much, but I like his character. However, I didn't like that Marshall now having feelings for his new friend.

Yea it's kinda backwards. Marshall has been out to his family and friends for what seems like a long time now all of a sudden he likes girls? But still there's some cool elements to the story and I'm thinking he's eventually gonna end up with Lionel. he is gay after all.

I really hate Charmaine btw.

I think he'll end up with Lionel too. Despite his strong approach, he seems nice. I'm still rolling my eyes at the Jonas brothers reference.

I think Lionel like a lot of young gay guys when they first come out try to be extra. But you can tell he really does have a softer less ridiculous side. And it's obvious to me that he has a thing for Marshall and purposely tries to push his buttons.

^Lol. I know. Every time I see him, I think he might be kinda cute if it wasnt for that Vitamin C hair.

I think Marshall's little scrawny ass is adorable. especially in his little gym shorts.

I just hope that his storyline doesn't change too drastically. I'm still upset that they got rid of Mo-Mo on Nurse Jackie too.
