XL will drop the single digitally on November 17 and on 7" on December 15.

The single's A-side is the Contra track "Cousins", and the B-side is "California English Pt. 2". The Contra tracklist includes a song called "California English".

I heard Horchata a few weeks ago.

It's a free download off their website, if anyone's interested, and it's the first track on their new album, which is out January 15th i think

i used to absolutely hate their music and now i'm kind of obsessed... i'm really late on the wagon. one day i listened to Oxford Comma and it just clicked for me how great it is. their first album really reminds me of Paul Simon, which is always a plus. i like what i've heard of Contra too.

Contra is streaming on vampireweekend.com and their MySpace page now. i kind of can't stop listening to it. "Holiday", "Run", "Horchata" and "Cousins" are all really great.

Indie juggernauts Vampire Weekend's sophomore album hits shelves January 12, via XL. Contra features 12 new tracks from the Northeastern collegiate rockers, and is available to stream in its entirety on the band's myspace page. The band has now announced a full-scale tour, in addition to the handful of dates already announced. They'll hit North America in March, after a brief stint in Europe.
