We Are the Fallen

I really liked Carly on Idol but I watched an interview with her and this new band a couple days ago that they did and she came across as a complete douche. As for this band, it's just Evanescence 2.0 and I don't think they'll ever surpass the comparison but it's probably her best shot of "breaking in".

Really like Carly....Really hate Evanescence! And this sounds JUST like Evanescence so I hate it...sorry Carly.

I love Carly! Think she is amazing. Always loved Evanescence. So this is the best of everything to me. I love it.

I really like Ben Moody, so I'll be interested to see what they come up with next. I just wish that they wouldn't be playing Evanescence covers if they're trying to differentiate themselves as an entirely new band.

Apparently they aren't completely trying to differentiate themselves as an entirely new band. I think the idea is that they look at 'Fallen' like a starting point and then they expand out from that in a way they'd done differently than Amy did.

I think Ben's a good songwriter and guitarist and I think that the first song shows a lot of potential so I'm going to be watching them in the future. I do think the name is kinda poor in taste (well the original "The Fallen" at least, this one seems a bit better) mostly to get more media attention. As for the singer, she seems very talented (never heard of her before, though) although she doesn't compare to Amy at all, in my opinion.

Where are they playing Ev. covers? I don't see any on their myspace or on youtube?

They played Going Under after Bury Me Alive at their first live performance.
I'm also quite sure that one of them said in an interview that they'd be playing some Evanescence songs on tour until they build up a bigger collection of their own material.

Thanks for posting that :-), I can't really say much about how it compares to Ev. since the quality isn't all that good but surely better recordings will pop up eventually.

Playing Ev. songs on tour makes a lot of sense for them since I figure that most of their initial followers will be current/former Ev. fans.

The first and only song they have is pretty much a continuation.

I'm not taking a stand on whether I like the band or not (with just one song it's pretty hard to make a fair judgment) but like I said earlier I think being a continuation (of Fallen) is the point.

Evanescence disbanded because Amy Lee was going a different direction artistically from Ben Moody and the rest of the band. So yes, WATF may sound sort of like an Evanescence clone but it's going to be the kind of band Evanescence would have evolved into if they had stayed together.
