End of business day...last hour is always done at home office where it is nice and quiet.

I just got home from work about an hour ago, but stopped on the way home to pick up a few items at Aldi's. I noticed a young woman with a survey clipboard. She asked me if I was a registered voter here, and I replied I was. She was pitching for No Labels. I was chagrinned to not be able to support a third party, but I'm almost certain their rise would result in Trump taking the prize. I told her.

I'm glad to be done with work until after New Year's. It's been a busy couple of weeks, and I keep having to drive to Arkansas to look at houses or do things associated with my search. Another offer on a different house was suppose to be decided today, but no word yet.

I am looking forward to getting up tomorrow and beginning cooking for neighbors' treats and to mail, and then putting up the tree maybe Friday and some lights on the front railings. It's almost time for old Sainty!

There were only a few workers in the offices at HQ today here, where I work, and I took in a Santa Claus gel cling and took it up to the third floor and stuck it to the executive suite's men's room mirror as a lark. They'll never catch me!

Settling down now to pen some cards to send.

my back is in agony....doing the cleaning before family lands on Christmas Day...and can confess that the last good cleaning was weeks ago before Covid and the Adenovirus.....rrrrghhhhhhhhh.

And it isn't only that the spiders and the cats have conspired to create a haunted house effect or something like the dining room in Great Expectations....in every room...it is the accummulation of bits of life everywhere...piled on tables and the floor and sideboards.

Now time for a cold Guinness and a roboxacet.

Just made a double recipe of Mary Berry's Sweet Potato Slaw so I could take samples to two different neighbors to try. Couldn't get the celeriac it called for, so used some turnips. I'm going to make her Onion & Fennel Tarte Tatin later today, but am going to parse it out into ramekins so can share it, plus they can wait to finish it in the oven on their own.
