I have a feeling this has been covered before, so forgive me if I'm posting an old topic. But I just can't stand the little Bogan.

He's an Aussie, I'm an Aussie. He's a very good player, he represents his country and plays in the Davis Cup. But I just can't stand to watch him, to see him on TV in any capacity and I cheer when he loses.

To me, Lleyton Hewitt is a disgrace and a blight on our nation. And as for his cheap as chips wife!!! But maybe I should save that for another Thread.

Can they not emigrate?? Do tohers share my dislike for this little git?
 
He's a good player and a hot guy. I'd go to my knees in front of him anytime.

When he first came to the scene, really hated him. The guy has mellowed now. I think he's a bit more cute too.

Well said, hotkeyz!! So what if the guy has some attitude when he's playing? I still like watching him play, and I'll always barrack my head off for him 'cos he's an Aussie!

I'm pretty much with the last two posters.

So - he has some attitude - so have a lot of other VERY good players in the past. I certainly wouldn't put Lleyton anywhere near in the same category of obnoxiousness as Brat McEnroe (who I hated then, but find myself quite liking now) or even Pat Cash.

Jimmy Connors also had his detractors, but he certainly knew how to work a crowd and he kept on playing superb tennis long past the "use by" date of almost any other player (one or two like Rosewall and Agassi excepted, maybe).

I liked Lleyton from the time I first saw him play - but that might be because I have always liked the "terrier" type of player who never knows when to give up. When I saw that match where he beat Agassi I said "this kid is very quickly going to overtake Rafter in the rankings" - and he did.

There can be no disputing that he is one hell of an athlete and very dedicated to his sport - and I think his "attitude" is one of the things that help him beat people who are quite possibly more talented (but less determined and focused) players.

I don't know about Lleyton winning at Queen's Club, the field seemed very limited. Nadal will never be a threat on grass, Roddick has been playing like shit since winning the '03 US Open, Blake is a decent player but I doubt he'll ever win a major... winning Queen's Club is like Sharapova winning in Birgmingham...
 
I'm somewhat irritated :grrr: because I was looking forward to a Lleyton-A-Rod encounter in the quarters with loads of Come-ons and Andytude to match. But deprived of that now, I was happy today to seeing him playing (and particularly serving well) against Rochus. Still, if he gets as far as Fed, he's again going to be demolished in straights with a bagel probably thrown in.
 
Lleyton gets a lot of crap because he is not your typical good guy Aussie - Pat Rafter, hot and charming, played hard but always a good sport. That's the Aussie MO

Lleyton deserves criticism because he is prickly but damn if he isn't a great tennis player. He fights out there harder than anyone and for him to have won Wimbledon well is amazing

He ticks me off too - but I respect him

And I think he's pretty good looking as well

Good post. lleyton annoys me sometimes, but people hating him is a bit much IMO.

And he is supposed to have a pretty big dick as well isn't he? That's always a bonus.
 
Andy needs tonight much more than Lleyton for his general mental well being.

Look what Lleyton has to go back to. Abundant resources, two houses in Sydney, a stunning wife and a cute daughter (who has the same Hewitt aggressive in-your-face stare). But he still has that competitive spirit and he does have a talent for getting under Andy's skin. I expect there will be lots of shouting and fistpumping.

Well, I personally never liked the guy, just don't get it why some consider him to be so hot & cute - he's NOT...and he's too full of himself and arrogant aswell. Isn't he a bit of a has-been now anyway - he'll never reach the absolute top of the rankings again with likes of Federer & Nadal dominating the scene...! But if he's got a big dick (where did you get THAT info anyway...?) - that changes everything...I'll look at him in a different light from now on...hehe...! ;)
 
Hewitt really put me off with that racial incident vs Blake years back.

Still I admired his play and competitive fire when he was at his peak. He hasn't really been playing to his potential for a while now. I blame the wife. lol.

Lleyton is not your typical easy going Aussie. His manners and behaviour on court are very un-Australian. He needs to pull his head in. In Australia we like to see Aussies win at whatever they do, but we don't enjoy his temper tantrums. Pat Rafter was always sporting and Mark Philipoussis is well behaved sportingly.
 
I will not try to deny that Lleyton has talent, but there has always been something about the way the he carries himself on court that just bugs me. It is very similar to the feelings that I have about Davenport and Henin-Hardene on the women's side. I just don't like the way they move around the court between points and games. I realize that this is just a silly thing to dislike someone who has an amazing talent, just because, but I do and that is kinda what sport is all about, atleast as a fan, isn't it?
