The one I live in right now....:-)

Same here.

I could show you all a picture, but then I'd have to kill you all.

(And Elvin, you're looking rather seductive there)

I'm with you hoody. I would want a house in the forest. Lots of trees and a stream would be good. :)

I like my house but its not totally my style.

Its a little too "Country", I want to build one thats more Art Deco.

Ignore the black tarps on the course they were doing yardwork.

One of those rich looking new suburban homes, beigy color like, maybe a stone type driveway, & with pretty landscaping done. Not sure on a location tho.

My 9 year old house is not grand, but it has one feature that makes it my true dream home -- I own it free and clear. It took moving from the hyper expensive Bay Area of California to a less expensive inland area, but it was worth it.

Mine looks roughly like this:

I think I liked it because it reminds me of grandma's house. :)

dream house = one that does not have a mortgage

A house in the Bay area that overlooks the mountains and the ocean. I would love to have my own vineyard and large garden that had lemon trees in it.

Hmm... I'm not crazy about the "modern" homes. They look so .. flat and unshapey. Maybe I'm just a "bad gay" (credit to kathy griffin) :p.

i love the home that I have now. I can't complain about that.

But my dream home would be, in addition to what my current home has, is an off the grid home, that runs entirely on it's own power. It would have an indoor waterfall, planters with lots of greenery to help maintain healthy fresh air. The property would be on the beach in Southern California on a large lot in an area that I can easily get around without haveing to deal with tons of traffic. It would have its own dock. It would be entirely furnished with environmentally friendly materials. All the window coverings would be automated, as well as the rest of the home. It would have a small personal observatory, outdoor living room, crown moldings and casings in every room. I think that it would be cool for it to look like the architecture in Mykanos or the Italian Riviera, but I'm open to other styles as well. I would like it to have at least a 4 to 6 car garage. Not because I want a bunch of cars, but because I like to have space to store things, including holiday stuff. It would have a room for gift wrapping, complete gym, steam room, and a small home theater. There would be a wide variety of original art in different mediums. And the property taxes and upkeep would be affordable. Well, you did say "Dream Home."

But if I did get my dream home, I would feel even more guilty about living in it by myself.

I am with you!

I want to move to Telluride, CO, or Rehobeth, DE, or maybe Westlake Village, CA.

I however want either a post modern french provincial designed by Michael Graves, or a home deisgned by Brian Hemingway, an architect in Canada.

CK

Go for Westlake Village....you can take classes at UCLA (such a beautiful campus- I went again yesterday to see an art performance) for fun...like the one where you watch the best movies before they come to theater and talk with the actors/directors/producers afterwards. And then there is the tons of art programs at UCLA, the Getty, around Santa Monica, etc....

its pretty hard to beat my apartment now...
true, not the biggest, or nicest, but location alone makes it amazing...right in the middle of downtown chicago, close to everything important.

I live outside of westlake village now... I love Westlake.

So you know the area?? Do you live in Westlake??

Nope. I don't really live anywhere near it. But I do occasionally go over there to see friends, art performances, etc.

I like to eat at Native Foods in Westwood:

I live in the San Gabriel Valley (http://www.mtncove.com - pardon the background music - it is a community luau reminder for the residents). I'm around 15 to 20 minutes (depending on traffic) east of Pasadena.

It looks like I live in the boonies because the development is against a national forest, in a canyon, with a river running along it and a creek running through it.

Here's a house I've admired for years ... "Sculptured House". It is on Genesee Mountain west of Denver and was built in 1963, never finished, and appeared in Woody Allen's "Sleeper". It was bought in 1999 and finished, true to the original plans.

It's now on the market for about $7 million. I have so many dream houses that I can't choose just one, but I think this house is really cool.

Here's an article about it:
