I remain in the faith in which I was raised...evangelical Christian (think Baptist).

Although i don't go anymore or 'practice' many of the beliefs - i'm still 'Seventh Day Adventist' at heart

Born Roman Catholic....still a practicing Roman Catholic (with some disagreement with parts of the doctrine).

Converted from Catholic Christian to Gnostic Christian.

I was baptised Catholic, but I still haven't got baptised Gnostic yet, but I will when I get back to living in California.

I actually was raised as a Seventh Day Adventist ; however with all of their strict teachings and intolerance of Gay folks ect ... I discovered the Christian Spiritualist Faith several years ago ... They; along with Metropolitan Community Church and Unity embrace and welcome Gay and Lesbians as human beings amd into their churches.
I've seen many Gay and Lesbians serving in positions of importance in these churches and I became ordained into the Christan Spiritualist faith and served on three different boards of directors for threee different churches at the same time.

I was raised Jehovah's Witness. Do not attend their meetings any more, since about 2 yrs ago. Several little reasons, not any big flash of enlightenment or anything like that. Part is there intolerance of gays. Part is I'm not sure I believe everything they teach, and Part cause when my wife left me 4 yrs ago, the elders disciplined me, just short of disfellowshiping, and she refused to talk to them, so she is still in good standing with the church. So am not anything right now. I still have my beliefs, but am open to others now as well.

Hmm ok dunno if ti doenst' count has had left.. since i didn't add their ranks by myself. But i was baptised as a catholic, which i ain't no longer. I'd apostated time ago.

Lutheran as a child... happy to be an Episcopalian now.

Family is Catholic, read the bible, now a non-denominational protestant

Well, the problem was that, if viewed without prejudice, the Christian creeds make no sense. I'm a little embarrassed now that I was once impressed by Paul's "logic".

I was just fortunate that I had reason to re-examine my presumptions at a fairly early age.

I also knew that whatever God was, It was real, even if It had been badly explained.

I now understand that we are integral members of a Living Universe which grows hearts and hands and minds like ours for a reason, and that the "God" inside each of us is also there for a reason, to keep those hearts and minds focused on the good of the Whole, and more importantly, to keep those hands working for that Whole.

Because this is a full step beyond "simple" pantheism, I call this Universalism.

Born Southern Baptist. Am now Wiccan. Big change, I know lol

born to an irish roman catholic dad, but atheist mom.

grew up as an atheist.

began to question several things in life, and worked my way through different beliefs, trying to find one that would "fit" (by that i mean, becoming familair with different religions-not being baptised in each one, then moving on to another in a week's time!!)

followed my own interpretation on the bible for about a year and a half, when i was about 14.

then ironically, our (christian) religious studies teacher got us all to write an essay on "what is good/evil - is god ALL good, is the devil ALL evil?" ... we had some really interesting theological discussions *though i seemed to be the only person in class who found them interesting!* ... and i began to question christianity.

decided it wasn't necessarily what i wanted.

went through a period of self-exploration .. and am now what i would describe as an "idiosyncratic spiritualist"!!! i follow my own interpretation of a combination of various archaic polytheistic religions and sects.

GOOD TOPIC to bring up though FFWD!!! it's been interesting to read everybody's responses!

My grandfather (mom's side) was a Pentecost preacher. She turned Methodist once she moved out. After dating a Pentecost, I understand completely. I was raised Methodist, and in college was exposed to the Catholic church through music. I now work as a music director for a Baptist church...a fairly liberal one, of course. And yes, they do exist.

My theology is closer to Universalist/Unitarian, but they don't pay as well as the Baptists. ;)
