Where is Julian Assange???

The appeals will last another decade at least.

Hopefully. Extradition between the UK and the US seems to be something of a one way street. I'm still hoping the courts will tell the Americans to fuck off if they continue to shield the Sacoolas woman.

Wikileaks is a Russian Front and as far as I am concerned he is an enemy of democracy everywhere.

As far as most people are concerned....forget about extradition. Just leave him where he is and isolate him from access by his Kremlin handlers.

So I see he will be able to appeal.

That should take up a few years.

Well that was inevitable. That should take another 2 years.

Fair enough RB -- if, in fact, you believe that they were fronting for the Russian state.

I personally have my doubts; therefore, my opinion stands for me... (y)

Sorry to side track my own thread...

It is telling "liberals" loved Assange until he leaked things about people they like. He is the only "journalist" with a 100% accuracy rate, because all he did was publicize things that happened, while calling out the actions that lead to those things. He leaked proof of wrong doing. Now people are pissed with the messenger, but not the wrong doers.

My country is great about supposedly protecting whistleblowers, albeit only those who have the resources to lawyer up and fight a corporate bench of lawyers for years to recover the damages.

But, let it be agains the government, and the military, and the virue evaporates.

After all, you could not have a more clear example that Eugene Vindman, and he was marched out in full national view, like someone caught embezzling.

Whether Assange was a shill or a patriot, his actions drew us nearer the Insurrection, as it proved neither Democrat nor Republican is virtuous or hoest as self-described. This effectively delegitimized law for the other 99%.

Assange has been released from prison and has left the UK. He is flying to the Northern Mariana Islands (a US territory) via Bangkok where he will appear before a US court and plead guilty to one charge. His sentence will not exceed the time he's already spent in prison in the UK, meaning that he'll be released immediately. He will then go home to Australia.

I wonder if he will now be barred from entering the UK again

He's on the verge of suffering an accident in complete freedom, or freely committing a relatively minor offense, given what he has now been freed from.

I assume he is a spent force and is under international surveillance at all times now that it is known that he was only ever a Kremlin plant and chaos agent and that Wikileaks was just an FSB op.

The dreary part though is that he is likely to try to hit the talk circuit...if only remotely because of his criminal record keeping him from entering many countries.

And of course, with charges now cleared, he is also free to be weaponized again.

That's the first thing I thought when I read he was going back to Australia. I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here is staged in Australia. He's a perfect fit for any of those I'm-a-knackered-old-media-whore-everyone-look-at-me type of shitshows.
