Who wants Jersey Shore to be recasted?

I enjoyed the first couple of seasons but now I'm tired of these same people. During the 3rd season the show started going downhill for me. It's the same people and the same crap all the time. This season has been a huge disappointment and I don't think I'm even going to watch the next one. I don't see how the show is such a hit because we're too familiar with these guys and it's nothing new anymore. I know it's just a fad and it'll die eventually, but I don't really want the show to go, I just wanna see some fresh faces instead of watching the same drama over and over again with the same 8 people.

It makes me wonder exactly how much of it is 'reality' and how much is 'for the cameras'. (And I've only ever seen the promos for it.) Were they really like that before the show or are they really like that because of the show?

I could ask the same question about all of those similar 'reality' shows. It's all for the cameras (and the audience and the ratings and the monstrously-high pay cheques).

Anyway, they should just cancel the show. The only funny part of the show is when I saw a news clip of an Italian guy complaining about how the show gives off bad stereotypes for Italians. Yet, the way he talked and presented was a complete Mafia stereotype, go figure.

I think you've got a classic ovogallic reversal there. The accent you heard that guy speaking in has become associated with organized crime in Hollywood movies, but in its home area everyone talks that way: the police, the kids on the street, the little old lady in the flower shop. It's Hollywood who have made it sound gangstery.

And remember, the losers on the show are NEW YORKERS who come to NJ to waste their time, their money, and their livers...very much to the annoyance of residents of the state.

Much as I hate NJ Governor Christie, he DID cancel the show's tax break. Because WTF, why should NJ give a special tax break to a show that perpetuates the worst stupid stereotypes about the state?

^^ Yes, of course it did. I'd like to see it recast, but if not just cancel it altogether because the show has run its course and really has nothing else left to offer that hasn't already been seen or done.

Why does the only other marginally attractive with his mouth taped shut one have to be straight?
