Why do black guys like white guys?

yeah, a lot of people don't realize that the premise of the show is to exaggerate stereotypes: the white supremecist, the thug, the activist, the "sell-out" and the list goes on. and just about every episode has a special guest, i've heard cedric the entertainer, lil wayne, mos def, busta rhymes, snoop dogg, and a whole bunch more on that show

Hey.....you know..I haven't notice that at all. And here I am good at observing things. They do have all the stereotypes on there huh? That just makes it even more funny an interesting.

It's not something specific to black people. The American media presents white people as beautiful. It explains why so many black women are trying their best to look like white women. Look at Janet Jackson and Lil' Kim getting their nose jobs to look more like a white nose. Then you have the fake hair crap.

JDE97, I do agree with this part on your post and its point.

I do find that black guys that exclusively dating whites kinda odd. We are capable of sustaining and having an attraction to any attractive individual of the same sex. However, many allow social-environmental influence orchestrate our lives more than others.

I am exactly one of those "open-minded enough to date any individiuals who they just happen to clique with" that JDE97. When I do meet white guys who are only attracted to black guys I usually don't date them b/c its seems like it more of fetish than a mutual attraction to me as a person. I would much rather find a guy that is into me because of who I am not what skin color or ethnicity I am.

I soooo agree with this and couldn't have put it better. It seems in my experience the white guys who hit on me are usually white guys that have a "black guy fetish" or have some specific idea of what black men are (more ruggedly masculine, big penises, etc.). It just really bugs me.

i thought i was the only one that noticed that most black dudes in pornos look like ex-convicts and ex-crackheads, i really wonder what these casting directors are thinking when they hire for these videos

I think it's because they are trying to play to what they think white men find attractive. I've found that white men who are into black guys, are into them because they have a specific idea of what a black man is, or looks like. Hence the fetish. Of course, the porn itself contributes to that very problem of continuing these stereotypes of black men, and the cycle goes on.

so true most black IN PORN are gross. but there are some fine ass black guys. just like there are fine guys in every race. i think that black people in general are sexually more conservative so they are less likely to do porn or experiment with their sexuality.

i do find it racist when people say they don't like black guys. because for one they haven't seen every black guy so that is a ridiculously bold statement to make. it's saying there's no chance for you to be attracted to any black guy period.

also the way black guys are talked about on these forums i find racist. in the galleries section, when ever there are pics of interracial sex there are always comments about how the black guy ruins it or the black guy is so ugly when sometimes the black guy is cuter or they are both busted. anytime there is a white guy who has muscles regardless of what his face looks like tons of people will say he's hot

what is interesting is that recently there was a black guy in the galleries that everyone was saying was so perfect and so hot. i thought he was just ok but i was surprised at the response. i think it had to do with the fact that he had a hispanic name. every thought he was latino so everyone thought he was hot

DING DING DING!

So true. Unfortunately, I have had the same experiences and it is such a huge turn-off. In my experience, white women will ask me if I am gay, because there is no way a black man cannot be attracted to them and white men will become more aggressive for the same reason. It does not necessarily stop at Caucasians, but it seems like the lighter the person, the more he or she expects that I should be attracted to him or her.

very well said. popular cinema has LONG been guilty of making the "favorite black characters" funny through inarticulation, stupidity, violence and criminal-activity. the well-spoken, educated black guy is always seen as weak and corny and inferior, even in black movies

Marleyisalegend that is very true! I speak from experience. Growing up I got good grades, was quiet, dressed a little dapper and spoke, what some people might say, "proper". Many (but not all) people never seemed interested in talking to me. But they did enjoy referring to me as "Steve Urkel" (or even... Carlton...).

Understandable. I can say that I had similar experiences with people growing up; even now, I still have similar experiences as most people are not that interested in talking to me, especially African American people.

You live in a very nice world, but I'm afraid it's not the real world I'm familiar with. I am constantly encountering fellow gay, black men who don't like their own people, idolize whites and view landing a white lover as a gateway to the "next level." For them, any white man will do. It's irrational of course, but that doesn't stop them from trying. I've lost friendships over this. Chemistry is a powerful thing, but color, unfortunately, is there also. Perhaps one day this will change. Until then, I am not prepared to declare "Mission Accomplished!"

perhaps an interesting correlate to black gay men 'idolizing' white men is the extent to which white gay men idolize black women performers, and black women in general. there is a certain variety of white gay man who in his heart of hearts wants to be a 'sistuh', and constantly uses the argot of black inner city women, such as calling each other 'girlfriend' and constantly saying 'you go, girl!' some of them even try to affect a black accent, which if I were black I'd find extremely offensive. As it is as a white gay man, I'm frankly embarrassed. what sounds rich and clever and expressive coming from a black woman sounds like parrot talk when it comes out the mouth of some airhead aberzombie twink.

the other thing this very good observation reminds me of is the way gay men in general want to be with 'masc' jocks, etc. Both seem to represent a desire to make up for some perceived deficiency.

i know what u mean. i had a black friend who was beat up by other black classmates just for getting good grades. black youth is going to hell in a handbasket with gasoline drawers, but atleast on the ride down there they'll be able to do all the latest dances, maybe they can shield themselves from the fire by covering themselves with their tall tees

Clearly we haven't agreed on some things, but I can agree with you here; there is an anti-intellecualism stance in some of the lower-working class segments of the African-American community. Not only have I seen it, but I've experienced it.

I thought you would be. No need to get nasty:D...you just got called out is all.

No, you haven't CALLED me on ANYTHING; we've just agreed to diagree....that is all...usually in my experience, Irish kids have THE CURSE.....and always, at least in my experience, bring up race, almost more than Italian-Americans.

just outta curiosity, why black people especially??

Well, the African American community is harsher when it comes to the ostracization of anything that is different or seen as different. I'm definitely not saying that each and every person I've met operates the same, but I am saying as a whole or as a subculture.

MIL and I have cleared everything between us; it just miscommunication, more on part than anything. As I told MIL, my statement came from two different perspectives; however, I do not believe that I separated them clearly enough. One was from personal experience and the other was from more of a social-science paradigm. I should have been clearer, because I am the last person who wants to make a biased, unfounded sweeping generalization about anyone or any group of people.

I just don't understand, why a lot of black guys are in the always have a attitude modes? I mean a lot of black guys always have to make themselves ghetto. Why can't they think about things before doing it? Ex. Fights & Arguing, those things I hate about black guys I just can't date one because a lot of them like drama! Yea every other races have that problem too, but it seems worse on the black side.
