Okay there's this big long thread entitled "Hott Wiggaz". I presume in english this is supposed to mean "Hot White Niggers". Am I mistaken? If I actually started a thread titled "white niggers" I'd probably be banned. But yet there's at this count 84 messages in the string. Am I the only one who finds this whole thing a little bit offensive?

ummmm...We say wiggaz because its slang. There is nothing wrong with making a title for a particular "type" of style. I don't here 110lb white bois on the site bitchin because of the slang "twink". Why do people have to read into everything so much?

It's not so much an issue of the word being offensive, but the fact that white kids with no self worth are being force fed that "style" by corporate America. It's like telling white kids that it's not cool to be white...or rather not cool to be yourself.

It's also a negative reinforcement that every young black guy in America behaves like some "gangsta" street thug.

I look at the whole thing as a product of corporate America - a negative stereotype which has become commercialized so that rich white people can feel like their "down" with being black.

There certainly isn't anything in this thread that would merit closing it. Disagreement, especially as civilly presented in this thread, is NOT the basis for censure.

Words do kill, and lead to the attitudes that kill: raghead, nigger, terrorist, American devil, communist, wetback, faggot, and the like all lead to, or reflect an attitude of contempt.

It is naive to suggest that just because there has been a precedent of unwise use of nigger by some street culture, that it somehow validates that lack of wisdom. Black activists themselves don't so easily laugh off the uses of nigger and bitch by gangstuhs, etc.

What's rediculous is people take these words seriously. Words dont kill, it's people who are looking for any rediculous excuse to do something that kill people. I think it's also kind of lame to think that just asking for pictures of something can turn into a thread like this, or cause so much backlash.

These children are not force fed this stuff, they buy what they want, they are not forced to wear it by anyone and they are not rejecting their culture. This is what they enjoy wearing and doing, so they do it. It's like ralph lauren telling people that his shirts make them look more sophisticated so that arguement has no validity of any type.

Wigger means 'wannabe nigger' therefore contains the word/concept of 'nigger' eg; a white person's stereotypical idea of what being black is.
It's integrally racist and offensive. The fact you don't get that, and use terms like this, and find it ok, is beyond me..

I dislike the term, and personally, dont think people should use it..

So (just saying for example, slightly off-topic), its okay for a black person to call another black person something that would be considered racist, if a white person (or whatever 'other' ethnicity) said it to a black person..?
