X-Men's 3 most powerful MEN

but as for current most powerful

1.) Elixir
2.) Iceman
3.) Ink (though I hate to put him up there...but he did somewhat use the Phoenix Force...or some crap

but the team has a lot of potentials now...Rockslide pretty much can't die, Cannonball beat Gladiator that time, Sunspot just has to worry about getting too much power too quickly, and we don't even know what's really up with Angel/Archangel yet

but if we go by all the male X-Men ever

1.) Professor X
2.) Magneto/Joseph
3.) Cable (especially when he was in Jesus mode)

if we're just talking about guys who've been on an active roster...

Iceman is just THE SHIT!!! and he really hasn't come close to full potential yet. it'd be sweet if 616 Iceman learned teleportation like his AoA version.

i think the number of times Magneto's handed the team their asses, speaks for itself.

i wasn't reading when Xorn was around, but apparently he something of a bad-ass.

don't know the details, but doesn't Gambit have the potential to destroy the Earth with his powers, if Sinister hadn't done something to keep them in check?

The most powerful X-Men (those who were actually ON the team)

Captain Britain: He wields the Excalibur which holds the power of the Marvel Omniverse. Nuff' said.

Quentin Quire: He's part of the Phoenix Force. Nuff' Said.

Magneto

Iceman is quite up there but he's outclassed by these three. Eventually he may very well surpass Magneto and take his spot.

Strengthwise, I would say Collossus.
Powerwise, I would still say Xaiver (before he was shot in the head and lost most of his memories)
And my third would be Cyclopes, but there are so many other great options, it's hard to narrow it down to just three.

Why can't there be a thread for most favourite x-men? (male or female)
I only watched the animated series a while ago does that count? Shadowcat and Nightcrawler were my faves.

But most powerful would be Cyclops with his laser eyes... erm don't really know any other powers.

I'm sorry!

Basically any of those that are one of the Twelve. (fromn the Twelve storyline YEARS ago)

That would include;

Havok/Living Monolith
Magneto
Polaris
Xavier
Jean Grey
Cyclops
Bishop
Cable
Sunfire
Mikhael Rasputin
Storm
Iceman

Captain Britain's never been part of the X-Men...just its offshoot Excalibur...and he barely wielded Excalibur...he doesn't even have it any more..Faiza Hussain from "Captain Britain and the MI:13" has it now

and Quentin Quire was never an X-Man either...sucks though...I'd love to see him come back and try to atone for his Omega Gang sins

I thought that these threads were not limited to official X-Men, but mutants within the X-Men universe? Anyway, Cyclops and Colossus as the most powerful mutants in the X-Men universe? Ha!

never got into Cap or Excalibur really...so i wouldn't know.
didn't count Quentin. if he had 1/2 Magneto's experience Ice Man would overtake him. he's already virtually indestructable now isn't he? IceMan that is.

pretty much...he's had a whole punched in his chest (twice!)...completely shattered

as for Captain Britain...we really don't know the limits of his powers nowadays sense he's been reborn with ungodly amounts of magic power

Okay, I've been meaning to ask this question for a little, but I keep forgetting. For anyone who has followed both Marvel and DC, is Gladiator (as he is a part of the X-Men universe) supposed to be Marvel's answer to Superman?

I was thinking about that the other day when I was watching a rerun of Beyond Good and Evil on X-Men. They have the same powers as well as similar weaknesses.

Sorta. The idea beyond the Shi'ar Guard was to slightly parody the Legion of Super-Heroes. As Superboy was part of the LSH,
well...

Not to mention the pretty similar clothes.

Gladiator could mop the floor with the boy scout. But yes, Gladiator was modeled after Superman either as a parody or a homage and his name, Kallark, is a contraction of Kal-el and Clark.

he can't beat Cannonball ;p

he can't beat Cannonball ;p

That was one of my all time favorite moments in an recent X comic.

So my list would be Cannonball, Iceman, and Gambit. All three have much higher power levels than they currently use and at full power would wipe the floor with just about all the other X-Men combined.
