An arbitrator ruled that Kaepernick’s collusion case against the NFL will proceed to a full hearing, over NFL objections.

I maintain that the negative response was not about troops or patriotism, rather the consistent response to black American protest- opposition. If you can find me one, juuuuuuuuust one black protest in American history that was not staunchly, passionately and sometimes violently opposed from slave revolts through the Civil Rights era, Jim Crow, desegregation [when the response to integration was so violent that the ARMY had to escort black students, children to school] to Black Lives Matter, I will wash your car with a toothbrush.

His ONLY sin was disturbing the American [read=white] equilibrium, if Tom Brady knelt during the anthem to protest the clubbing of Antarctic baby seals he'd have been hailed as an environmental God and a shining example of using entertainment to draw attention to IMPORTANT [catch ALL that shade] causes.

The demonization of Colin is made all the more appalling, and speaks volumes about his detractors and sports fans, since he didn't spend his free time like most NFL superstars do, incurring sex crime charges, assaulting people in bars, posting snapchat videos in the strip club with some nasty hoe whose body is 87% plastic, driving drunk, partying on yachts with instagram thots, doing drugs or carrying guns into locker rooms or dance clubs, he spent his own money to feed the poor here and abroad. On paper he's the guy you WANT your daughter to bring home [unless you live south of the Mason Dixie] but the way his detractors tell it he's the single most vile thing to ever exist in the history of existence.

where the big homie willhunt at? I think it's time to take a knee

PS: let me nip this in the bud because I can see it coming from ten miles away, check out this link before anybody wastes their energy typing up an essay about blacks ignoring violence in their own communities

"People are working on this issue every day, addressing it, and putting a focus on it. The problem is not whether people in the community are addressing it. The real question is if the broader city is addressing it enough or if the media is addressing it enough," said outspoken anti-violence activist the Rev. Michael Pfleger.

Tamar Manasseh formed Mothers Against Senseless Killings to patrol the neighborhood after a murder in the 7500 block of South Stewart in June. In the five weeks after a man opened fire on three women on June 23, there were no shootings on the block or on the 7500 block of South Harvard where the patrols were set up, according to a DNAinfo Chicago map of shootings in the city.

When Lunden Gregory was in Uptown six years ago, the sound of gunshots kept her up at night, forcing her to move to Woodlawn and South Shore before finally finding "peace" in Michigan, she said. But Gregory moved back to the city when she wanted "to no longer run from home" and "be part of the solution [instead] of running from the problem, when times get hard."

Gregory began standing on the corner with 11 other people, and soon that number tripled. Now she hosts protests on a weekly basis.

Residents united after a shooting at Leone Beach Park left two men wounded. Organizers of the event included a mother and her two young children — one of which she was forced to "lie" to after he witnessed the shooting.

The mother, Grace Husar, along with 30 other residents, gathered in the park do create art, utilize the playground, cook s'mores and symbolize they would not give up their park to violence.

tatted football player.jpgfootball hero.jpghave a mad crush on him for years:bj: so I hope he gets all the justice he deserves and then some----thats my unbiased opinion:lol:

Glad to see that he gets to present his case. It may set some groundwork for all sports club owners and athletes.

I'm not anticipating a win or a loss, but that he's getting his chance is as good a sign as any. He falls in line what the basics of what we're taught since childhood, charity, kindness, and this is a land where you have freedoms many don't have in other nations. That he was made a villain is a dark spot in sports and American history that will not be looked upon with proudlike nostalgia fifty years from now.

Congrats to him.

Terrible hair do though.

I'm right here with a song in my heart, on bended knee. Every time they strike it up, down I go. There is no other place to be. There is no other position to take because it is exactly where we belong. fab and I have friends in the wilderness, away from the crowds, away from the cameras, away from the dog-whistles. They actually hum this song each day so they can take a knee. I don't think some people understanding kneeling and praying for justice.

Oh yeah, and for good measure, a piggyback post. Okay, yeah left knee. We're ready, strike up the band. All of us Patriots are ready.

Oh yeah, so Fab knows he's not alone. A threepeat post. God definitely recognizes the patriots among us. Just sayin'

Real patriots are not silent while anyone is suffering. I'm not poor, a woman or an animal but I advocate for all of them because all life is worthy of respect, anything even an inch short of that is TRULY disrespectful to the flag, the anthem and the troops and the true spirit of America. We're getting there, slowly, day by day, like a kid being dragged to the doctor for a booster shot.

This. Can. Not. Be. Said. Too. Many. Times. When someone cries out for justice there is NO appropriate response but support. Period. /endstory

(Off Topic) My ancestors were Loyalists. Does that mean we can't be friends anymore?

(On Topic) I read the article this morning, closed the tab, then forgot to come back here to post a response. My biggest fear is that the defendants will remind the Court that "collusion is not a crime".

Yeah, one of my ancestors may have owned slaves. Dear Friend, they're history, we've evolved.

I thought the same thing exactly! This whole show is driving us collectively mad.

In unsurprising news, the detractors of the protest again find themselves in poor [read=racist] company.

County GOP secretary called black NFL players ‘baboons’ in Facebook post

The Republican Committee of Beaver County’s secretary made racist Facebook posts last year about black NFL players kneeling during the national anthem, repeatedly referring to them as “baboons.”

Carla Maloney, a Hopewell Township resident, made the comments on her personal Facebook page, which can no longer be found, under the name Carla Belich Fueller. Screen grabs of the page show Maloney and her friends commenting on the anthem issue.

Once again another totally-not-racist GOP member refers to black people as primates.

Colin Kaepernick To Be The Face Of Nike’s ‘Just Do It’ 30th Anniversary Campaign
The NFL quarterback will be appearing in ads that say, “Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything. #JustDoIt.”

Colin Kaepernick may not be currently signed to an NFL team, but he definitely scored a big coup with Nike.

The sportswear manufacturer has announced that it has chosen Kaepernick to be the face of its 30th anniversary “Just do it” campaign, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

That. Is. Fan. Fucking. Tastic. He is a shining example in a league full of violent men who can't stay out of jail. Good to see his character and nobility finally being honored.

Having a grievance about the dubious actions of individual cops in a few high-profile cases is perfectly legitimate.

Questioning whether the correct disciplinary procedures are in place, and police accountability, is perfectly legitimate.

Stating that in some cases there is a casual and flippant disregard about excessive use of force is perfectly legitimate.

Campaigning for change and reform in the police and criminal justice system is perfectly legitimate.

But....

Calling into question the ability of ALL Americans to unite behind BOTH (a) the American flag and anthem AND (b) uniting around watching a national sport AND (c) effectively trying to force it weekly into Americans faces through their TV screens whether they want to see it or not is NOT CONSTRUCTIVE.

It does nothing but divide further. It does not convince anyone. It only creates animosity and bad feeling. If these players were truly interested in uniting the country, they would be TALKING to Americans. Not SIGNALLING to them. And not doing so in such an obviously crass, cynical, blatant and inflammatory way.

They do nothing in this action at all, at best nothing will change, and at worst this conflating of 'protest' with race and nation could be making racial tensions and national polarisation worse.
