The US goes to War

And Caveat Emptor...or who has the biggest regrets now?

Well, they all gave billions of dollars to the guy whose family hosted Bibi Netanyahu in their home, at least before Charles Kushner was sent to prison.

What did they expect to happen?

When Netanyahu slept at the Kushners — media tales of Trump’s Jewish confidants
US media outlets reveal inside reporting about Jews in Trump’s inner circle.

Jared Kushner once lent Benjamin Netanyahu his bed.

That’s a juicy takeaway from Jodi Kantor’s deep dive into the first son-in-law and his relationship with Israel published over the weekend in The New York Times.

Netanyahu has long been a friend of the Kushners, and particularly Jared’s dad, Charles Kushner, a major donor to pro-Israel and Jewish causes. One time, Kantor reports – she doesn’t specify when – Jared gave up his bed and moved to the basement so Netanyahu could spend the night at their home in Livingston, New Jersey.

I love that they had to emphasize that Jared slept in the basement, so that we didn't think Jared and Bibi slept together.

Is it bad that I believe Iran’s state media more than I believe my own president ?
What this moron isn't telling the American public is that there are over 1,500 ships stuck in and around the Strait of Hormuz - estimates vary but they believe the blockage is affecting between 2,000 and 2,500 total vessels. They estimate that 40,000 seamen are involved. The Strait has been shut down for 21 days. There are full tankers in the Arabian Sea that have sitting in the water waiting for 3 weeks.

The Iranians are blocking GPS, so navigation is very difficult.

Shippers are charging 400% of the normal rates to ship to the area. That's $800,000/day or $3,500 per container for container ships.

It's going to take weeks to sort all of this out, even after the waterways are reopened. It will take weeks for the price of oil to normalize.

In the latest episode of Bill Maher's show, he lauded Jared Kushner for negotiating the Abraham Accords - a trade deal disguised as a peace accord.

One thing that the post below doesn't mention is that included in the Abraham Accords was "The Abraham Fund" which was supposed to be a $3 billion fund to help provide money for agricultural projects in the middle east. Kushner put his college roommate in charge of it. The Abraham Fund never received any money.

The media keeps referring to Kushner as an "unpaid negotiator" on behalf of the US government. Kushner is there negotiating side deals to enrich the Kushner family and the Trump family. It is like something out of medieval Europe with the consigliere being sent to negotiate a deal that makes the king (or the mafia boss) richer.

Maher is such a useful idiot...increasingly on the wrong side of everything as his audiences vanish and he chases demographics.

The Fetterman of panel bobbleheads.

There are news reports coming out that White House staff have abandoned any sort of formal briefings for the President. They are mostly communicating updates about the war with video montages that show things being blown up by Israeli and US missiles. His comments about the war being over and the US having won might be what he believes based upon the limited information that he receives and the "Dear Leader" sycophancy that accompanies the videos.

Trump getting daily Iran war sizzle reel of ‘stuff blowing up’ fuels concern he’s not getting full picture in briefings: report

Trump has watched a curated reel every day of the U.S. military striking Iranian targets, according to a report

President Donald Trump watches a daily video briefing about the war in Iran curated by U.S. military officials, who show him a reel of “stuff blowing up,” fueling concerns that he “may not be receiving or absorbing” the full picture of the conflict, according to a report.

The joint U.S.-Israeli military operation is now in its fourth week and Trump has seen his approval rating plummet to a new low amid soaring gas prices.

Trump has been shown a highlight reel, approximately 2 minutes long but sometimes more, every day since the bombing campaign began on February 28, depicting U.S. Central Command striking Iranian equipment and military targets, NBC News reports, citing U.S. officials.

I imagine that they are something like this:

wow. Ramirez isn't shying away from racist tropes at all with this toon.

Iran is sending drones to drop bombs and terrorize the middle east. Each drone can cost between $5,000 to $25,000 each.

The US is shooting them down with Tomahawk missiles that cost between $2.2 and $3.5 MILLION per missile.

850 x $2.2 million = $1.87 BILLION

US has fired 850 Tomahawk missiles into Iran - leaving some officials concerned about dwindling supply

The rate at which the U.S. military has used the Tomahawk missiles in the Iran war has reportedly prompted internal talks about increasing supplies

Some Pentagon officials are concerned about the “alarmingly low” supply of Tomahawk missiles remaining in the U.S. military’s arsenal after firing 850 of the weapons into Iran, according to a report.

The rate at which the U.S. military has used the Tomahawk missiles in President Donald Trump’s war in Iran, now in its fourth week, has prompted internal talks about increasing supplies, according to The Washington Post.

U.S. officials told the newspaper that the number of Tomahawks left in the Middle East was “alarmingly low.” Another official told the outlet that the U.S. supply of Tomahawks was closing in on “Winchester,” military slang that means almost out of ammunition.

But wasn't it ever all about blowing off billions to destroy something so that the military industrial complex would get billions to build more?

War and materiel are a huge part of the US economy and spread across GQP and Dem districts alike.

The US pulled itself out of the Depression with war and the dirty secret is that every administration since has known the value of this as the US sells trillions of debt into the marketplace on the promise it will keep paying the interest...always on the backs of the middle class that it loves to see in slaveitude.
