Then on Thursday, she will have a one-on-one interview with Jay Leno

That should be interesting. I hope she asks hard hitting questions to Leno, and asks him how he feels about losing friends for selling his soul to the devil. I hope Rosie talks more about her support for Conan and dislike for Leno.

Confirmed, Jay Leno to Restore Reputation on 'Oprah'

Oprah Winfrey snatches the chance to have the first interview with late night TV host Jay Leno who is embroiled in NBC's scheduling fiasco. Jay has been the villain in the situation whereby Conan O'Brien is forced to quit when Jay wants his old job back. This appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" will restore his reputation.

Oprah has the tendency to put her guests in better light. Thus Jay reportedly reaches out to the queen of daytime talk show in order to shed off the image that he is to be blamed for Conan's departure from "The Tonight Show". "Oprah and Jay love each other," said a source. "They talk constantly."

Oprah announced on Friday, January 22 afternoon that she will conduct a quick interview with Jay in Los Angeles and it is scheduled to air on next Thursday.

oprah im so disappointed. this will obviously be a biased interview... i think conan will do better to just leave it alone-- he walked away with class and he should get his next show up and running and then let his ratings do the talking....

I read that due to his contract, Conan, can not speak publically about the issue until September 2010.

I don't get what people see in Jay Leno. His show is kinda entertaining but he's not that funny. Conan is fucking hilarious...he's a true comic.

Well, first of all: I've heard that Conan can't legally make any television appearances for another three months. Oprah can't interview him yet, and Jay starts The Tonight Show again on March 1st. Besides, Jay - the controversial bad guy - would be more of a bitchy interview for her to do anyway, don't you think? Oprah'll get to ask him all the uncomfortable questions. She's just doing what made her famous, so I doubt she's "playing favorites" here.

Oprah has no problems with making bad people look bad if she wants to, and the promo at least makes it seem she's going to make him look like a selfish asshole unless he lies his ass off, or somehow manages to not answer her questions. Even in the Denise Richards interview, Oprah called her out and said "You know that I realize you didn't give me an answer, right?"


Again: This could be good TV.

I've only seen parts of the interview now, and plan on watching the entire thing later. The specific part I want to comment on was when Leno was saying "Retiring would be selfish, because I would be putting my entire staff out of work." Oprah asked him "Couldn't you have done what Conan did?" and all he had to say was "Well, yeah. . .I could have done that, but I didn't. [...] I want the tonight show back; It's a dream job."

Therefore, I hope he chokes on a goat's cock.

Edit: And he looks 50 times uglier in HD, too. I even noticed on his show that he's gained about 20 lbs since this whole thing started. Good for him.
