Hey all,

They just announced this years Grammy nods:

http://www.grammy.com/GRAMMY_Awards/49th_Show/list.aspx

"Mary J. Blige tops the nominations with eight, while Red Hot Chili Peppers garner six, James Blunt, the Dixie Chicks, John Mayer, Danger Mouse, Prince, Rick Rubin, will.i.am and John Williams each earn five nods. Beyoncé, Bryan-Michael Cox, Gnarls Barkley, Israel Houghton, T.I and Justin Timberlake receive four each."

Any thoughts and/or predictions??

Here are mine:

Record of the Year: Mary J. Blige - "Be Without You"
Song of the Year: James Blunt- "You're Beautiful"
Best New Artist: James Blunt
Best Pop Female: Christina Aguilera
Best Pop Male: can't decide (they're all good!)
Best Pop duo/group: The Fray
Best Pop collabo: Shakira
Best Pop Album: Christina Aguilera "Back to Basics"
Best Dance Recording: either Madonna's "Get Together" or JT's "SexyBack"
Best Dance Album: Madonna - Confessions...
Best Female R'nB: Mary J.
Best Male R'nB: John Legend

*Sorry that was kinda long!

You're Beautiful is the kind of song Grammy loves so expect a lot there.

I really didn't see a lot that reflects what I bought/downloaded in the last year and see that trend continuing with each year.

There is a cutoff date by which material for nomination has to be released, I think that was Nov 1st in case something you like that's very new looks to have been ignored.

Sorry Newboy but looks like your girl Rihanna is nowhere to be found......
Mary got all the R&B noms (like she should have) and Goldfrapp & Madonna got all the Dance nominations.

Best New Artist noms are interesting......Chris Brown (WTF????) and who in the world is Imogen Heap???? Either James Blunt or Carrie Underwood will take that one.

I'm so excited the Dixie Chicks got some Grammy love after all those ignorant Country fans have banned them for life from their hick airwaves.

I hope Mary takes a bunch. I'm so proud of her I've been a fan since the beginning and I'm glad she's getting the spotlight at this year's awards.

I want Christina to win both her categories. What an amazing album!

And Newboy, though I'm not the biggest fan of your girl I do think she was horribly robbed of a Best Dance Recording nom for SOS. But you had to know she wasn't going to get tons and tons of noms like you expected.

Christina Aguilera and Madonna were ROBBED of Album of the Year (general) nominations. They were two of the greatest albums this year.

Christina especially. 2 measily nominations in the pop category. Pathetic.

Why the hell wasn't KT Tunstall nominated for Best New Artist? What a load of shit.

I'm not going to bother listing all the categories. This is easier...

Madonna should win whatever she's nominated in. Same goes for KT Tunstall, and Dolly. Everyone else can die.

So pissed Christina only got two. She could have least have also gotten either Album of the year or Record of the year. Hopefully she at least gets best pop female vocal.

I'm speechless. Christina only gets two nominations? Ugh.

Madonna should win whatever she's nominated in. Same goes for KT Tunstall, and Dolly. Everyone else can die.

I think Madonna should win the album category. As much as I love Madonna, I don't think Get Together is a winner. It's a weaker track among those in her album.

And before Justin Timberlake dies, may I have a piece of him first? *|*

I think the Grammy academy was focusing on the mainstream side of the music. Except for a few artists, I thought most of the nominees were chosen fairly.

Christina Aguilera definitely deserved a few more Grammy nods; she'll probably get more from future-released songs.

If Lamb of God gets nominated and wins anything, I plan to crash the event, ODB style.

That is all...
