No thread :##:....

first..WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (!)(!)(!)

Am I the only one who feels the field is wide open for the mens and womens this year.

You have Nadal, Federer, Murray, and Djoko. But it seems like there are plenty of dark horses with soderling, isner, blake, and fish. None of the top players have looked "awesome," so this open will be quite interesting.

My pick though - MURRAY (!)..backup...Soderling ..|

For the women,

It's quite boring to me since Serena is out :(....so this is Venus's best chance to take it. Clijsters has looked very in and out...so I don't expect her to make it to the finals.

Who do you guys think will win?

Murray is my pick for the men... but you can never rule out federer or Nadal. Personally I'm hoping Fish makes a good run... he's my dark horse.

This may be Venus's last great shot at a major outside of wimbledon because Serena and Henin are not there, I hope she can pull her shit together and win it!

I agree about clijsters, and also Sharapova might have a really good chance of winning it.

Sharapova has been quite impressive lately. She definately a factor it seems. Fish has been shockingly good since his comeback. I didn't expect his form to be as good as it is now.

Since there's no Serena and Roddick was ousted early (surprise, surprise...), I'm rooting for Venus and Djokovic!

I'm rooting for Wawrinka and Venus. But it will probably come down to Federer/Nadal on the men's side. Clijsters/Wozniacki on the women's. I'm still a Roddick fan in spite of his recent slump. I think he'll regroup and make some more slam runs before his career is over. He may never win another but I bet he'll go deep in a slam again.

I'm hsppy roddick lost. He was a dick in his 2nd round, and deserved to lose :D.

Sadly, my picks on the men's have lost. Soderling and Murray...#-o

Soderling really had some chances tonight, but he just couldn't get a first serve in when he needed it. On the other hand, Federer was just too good. Fed/Nadal express here we come.

Venus is still in so she better win. Caro winning = death of wta :(

I could marry you! Everyone around me is rooting for her and... ugh. She's a good returner, nothing more.

Everyone around you is brain dead...like caro

But seriously, it's sad to hear people mention her as a sort of Hinigis-like player. They are NOTHING alike.

Well, we're getting ever closer to another Federer/Nadal final. I doubt Younzy can overcome Rafa. Novak has a slight chance against Fed. At this point, I want anyone but Federer to win it. Novak would be my first choice followed by Rafa.

I'd still love to see Venus go all the way but something tells me she's just not going to escape Kim. I hope I'm wrong but I think Kim has an edge psychologically. With Caroline/Vera, I'd give Vera a ever so slight edge but it's still a toss up.

So at this point, I'm pulling for Venus and Novak.

As much as I dislike Caro, out of the 4 players, she's been in the best form this entire tourny. Anything short of a final would be a great disappointment. Besides, she has the fact that Vera is a headcase on her side...like all the other female russian players...sigh#-o

Clijsters is like Djoko to me; very hot and cold. I really give Venus a chance to overcome Clijsters. She seems to be the more consistent of the two these past 2 weeks.

As nice as it would be for Djoko to make another breakthrough for his chance at a 2nd slam, Fed has just been too good this week. I don't see anyone getting past the fedal express :-({|=

This is possible:

Zvonereva vs Williams (Williams wins)

Djokovic vs Nadal (Nadal wins)

But this is probable:

Wozniacki vs Clijsters (Clijsters wins)

Nadal vs Federer (Federer wins)

Wow...Caro just got outplayed by Bepa (ww)

She was just striking the ball so cleanly, and most importantly, she stayed relaxed.

Venus out! Kim vs Vera for the title. Kim will be the favorite but I swear Vera is playing out of her mind right now. She definitely has a shot. I'm pulling for Kim though.

Venus....WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT ](*,)](*,)](*,)

Kim was handing Venus this match, and she just turned into jelly. That TB in the 2nd set.....Venus needs to stop and re-evaluate her mentality because it's obviously not there anymore...

GOGOG KIM! (!)

All my picks have gone to hell...venus, murray, soderling....

I doubt that Venus will win another Slam (singles, I mean). She's too inconsistent and can't finish against the top players.

Her performance in the tiebreak was ridiculous. Then, in the third set, she squandered her opportunities to redeem herself.

I figured Clijsters would send her packing.

Now, *gulp* I wonder which of the guys will be swatting the ball to claim the title on Sunday. Tomorrow, we shall see.

I'm definitely betting on a Nadal/Federer final. And if that's the case, I'm rooting for Nadal. Not much of a fan of either of them but don't want Federer to keep winning Grand Slams. Hope Kim defends her title.

Well Djokovic did it!! He defeated the mighty Federer. Yes!! Djokovic vs Nadal in the final!!!!

That was a pretty good match from fed/djoko. Novak played the pressure points really well.

Sadly, from Nadal's play today and the 5 setter Djoko had to endure, Nadal is def the favourite to win.

Kim defended (!) Vera as expected imploded on herself #-o

Yeah, I watched the Kim/Vera match and it was just painful to watch Vera self destruct. Oh well, I'd feel more sorry for her if she weren't collecting $850,000 for being the runner up. She can cry all the way to the bank.

Let's not forget that Vera also has her *ahem* coach to console her.
