How can 2021 possibly be worse than 2020? Even for most Republican-affiliated people in the USA, I think 2021 will be better.
Even if all the vaccines fail - let's say the new UK and Nigeria strains of COVID-19 aren't stopped by the vaccines - the "conditioning" into COVID protection and precaution has ALREADY happened. For me, and probably for many others, initially learning how to maximize protection and the hassles of doing so took some getting-used-to. I dived head-first into protecting myself, but it was rather hard on my psyche for the first couple of months, and the human isolation was difficult (not as much as touching any other human being for 76 days, 13 March to 28 May), but I've now moved along that learning curve and I can deal.
If we have to keep doing this through most or all of 2021, we've already learned how to form at least some of the coping skills that we need.
