This happened to me once when I was 17, but that time the symptoms were milder and the condition disappeared by itself after a few weeks. I've been tested for all (I think) STD's a few times since then, and I've never come up positive for anything.

Now I'm 20, and I've had this condition for months. Sometimes the skin cracks or bleeds. Sometimes little itchy bumps form. I think it's just jock itch (which I've never had before) because it feels like what I used to have between my toes. However...if it were actually an STD, would blood or urine tests detect it? At one place I went to, they swiped my asshole with a swab and tested the swab...so I'm assuming that's the only way to detect an STD on your asshole?

So I guess what I'm really asking is...

1) How likely is it that this is an STD and not jock itch?

2) Would a blood or urine test detect STD's in/on your asshole? Or do they have to swab your asshole?

3) Will washing your groin with dandruff shampoo cure jock itch (I read this somewhere)? Or do I have to go buy jock itch cream?

are you talking about ring worms ?

normally appears in the groin area, sweaty and hot. Ring worm loves those areas.

If your saying you asshole's itchy and little bumps appear, it could be your suffering from pile, AKA, heamorroids. Get son preseration H try it and see how it is from there. If no better go see your GP.

Since you're still having flare-ups in the anal area it's probably time to see a Dermatologist...You can find one on your own or if you have a Primary Physician he/she can refer you to a Dermatologist...

Jock itch (tinea cruris) is a fungal infection that has a distinct appearance. It is red and has a clear edge like an inkspot.

Typically itchiness around the asshole is hemorrhoids or a shaving rash (folliculitis).

I got this twice. It is jock itch/yeast infection. Your asshole gets itchy and red. you have to see a doctor and get cream. It goes right away. Over the counter stuff might work to though. It's just not as strong. It's not an std at all. I workout a lot and sweat a lot so things get moist, Gotta keep it dry with a powder to.

Thank you everyone for your answers. For now I'm going to assume (and hope) that it's jock itch/yeast infection. If the cream doesn't work, I'll try some of your other theories.

It sounds like Pinworms. But the same treatment could be used for an array of the possibly suggestions. If i were you i would just get a topical antibiotic cream/gel. We just studies this in school. If there is blood with a fishy smell, its pinworms. Yeast infections and jock itch dont cause bleeding. The bleeding is generally from the tiny worms biting you.

And it WAY more common than you think. And ANY virus is microorganisms living on you so its not even weird.

Why don't you just go to a doctor? IMHO asking laypeople on the internet about medical issues just makes no sense.

why would hemorrhoids itch

They do burn and itch when inflamed. We don't konw exactly why- it seems to be connected to the inflammatory process but the exact cause is uncertain. Cortisone creme seems to help resolve it.

I get that time to time and it gets moist i usually get a paper towel with baby powder and stick it inside my ass cheeks and it works.

Ah ok .. at least I am not the only one who couldn't make a logical connection there ;)
