I had planned on doing this for 2010, and got a good start on it. But then I ended up taking a really long break from JUB, and didn't feel like resurrecting the thread. So let's see if I can pull it off this year.

One song a day from my archives, from (roughly) 1977-1990, that wasn't much of a hit.

For the new year, let's start with...

Day 1: Catch - "25 Years"

Day 2: Felt - "Primitive Painters"

Felt was one of my favorite indie bands to come out of the 80's. Lawrence and the rest of the band were underrated.

This was probably their most accessible song due to the beautiful vocal by Elizabeth Fraser.

Thanks for posting. Looking forward to upcoming songs.

>>>You should post "Baker Street" in honor of Gerry Rafferty, who just passed away at 63.

It's hardly "forgotten", though, as many stations played it all through the last few decades. But still, not a bad notion.

Day 6: Gerry Rafferty - "Days Gone Down (Still Got the Light in Your Eyes)"

Lex

Day 9: Selecter - "Celebrate the Bullet"

Keep waiting for a parody group to do "Celebrate the Mullet".

Lex

Day 14: Shaun Cassidy - "Rebel Rebel"

Yes, that Shaun Cassidy.
Yes, that "Rebel Rebel".

Lex

Day 15 - Delta 5 - "Mind Your Own Business"

Bad sound quality, but worth it for the sheer WTFiness.
