Today....I ironed my first article of clothing...

A shirt....I sprayed so much starch stuff on it, I'm afraid I'm going to break it!

How many iron their own shirts?

I do not even own an iron. I keep meaning to buy one but everytime I pick one up I end up saying ahh i'll buy it another time lol.

wow, I iron all the time. I evened ironed another kids clothes on a school trip once. My friends say I'm domesticated.

I started a new job last night to save some money for my next trip. When I went to iron the new shirt I had to buy, I found a colony of ants had taken up residence in my iron, guess its been a while........

I used to iron my own stuff. But I really hated doing it - and I stunk at it! So, a friend of mine at work told me he had his dress shirts done at a dry cleaner and it only cost $2.00 each to do it. I said, "SOLD!"

They do soooo much better a job than I ever did, even when I was trying really hard. Their results last longer, too! I wash them at home as usual and just take them to the cleaners for "press only."

Unless I get something on them, I can usually wear them a couple of times to save $$$ because I always wear an undershirt. OK, this is the part where Mr. Blackwell jumps out and tells me "no, no, no..."[-X

oh I hate ironing my shirts and that's what I have to do later tonight.

Heh. I do the ironing for me and hubby. (He's never ironed a shirt before; he's led a very sheltered life.) It's not my favorite activity, but I do it once a month, and watch movies (I love Netflix) while I'm doing it. Makes it painless. :-)

When the housekeeper is off I usually iron (YEA RIGHT!). I like to look good so I always iron my clothing. Don't use too much starch on your shirts, they can turn yellow.

Oh, God. I iron everything! I mix my own starch so I can get my shirts just right. My advice, buy a quality iron. Spending around $100 on a "commercial" style iron like a Rowenta, makes ironing less painless and the results are wonderful.

I iron my own shirts, too. I can't imagine being able to iron only once a month. I usually try to iron shirts as I pull them out of the drier. However, that doesn't always get done - at which point I just iron the shirt I'm going to wear the next day the night before. It's pretty easy to keep-up with.

$2.00 for a press?! You can send me your shirts and I'll iron them for only $1.50 each. $2 each sounds expensive! Are you sure you're not getting hosed?

Well, let's see.... I don't feel anything down there.... Maybe it's a small hose.:sex:

If you're offering, I need them back by tomorrow at noon. Sound good?;)

Remember the "dry cleaning" isn't that at all. Your stuff is washed in nasty liquid chemicals! Nasty shit it is too. $2.00 is a common price to pay for a shirt by the way.

I only buy shirts that are wash and wear, but I do have a few shirts that need ironing, so since there are so few, I iron them myself.

I don't actually have them dry cleaned, just pressed. That was the "press only" part.;)

I don't iron all that often as I'm able to wear polo's to the office. I rarely see clients directly, almost all of my work is done over the phone. But when I do break out the iron I tend to find it rather relaxing.

I iron my own shirts too. I've rarely had a dry cleaner get them just right (usually too much starch) and I can do it on my own schedule. Sometimes it is relaxing because it's usually what I do before I go to bed. As an earlier post stated, get a good quality iron if you can -- it makes it much easier. I bought one of the Shark models for about $70 and it does a great job. I used to be really good about it and do all the ironing on a weekend, but that meant I had to pick out my work clothes in advance... and I'm rarely that organized! :-)
